My late brother Tony taught me to use a rubber mallet to strike it loose against the wrench... Works out for striped nuts , using a vise grip and rubber mallet. Worked great for breaking loose a lower flow 02 sensor recently.

I bet removing that heat shield would be a pain in the rear. I didn't even know they made a O2 wrench like that.
@EfurdGarage3 жыл бұрын
yea it would lol i didnt even want to try it. yea i had forgotten i had it honestly until the day before i did this one

what is the stuff you spread on the threads?

Special conductive anti seize should come with the o2 sensor. Most have a little packet

Don't you need a sensor with the heat shroud if you took one off the original sensor?
@EfurdGarage2 жыл бұрын
didnt remove a heat shield. the heat shield i mention is the one over the exhaust manifold
@acolytemt2 жыл бұрын
@@EfurdGarage oh, ok. My matrix had a shroud on the sensor, so the tool that you used doesn't fit. Guess toyota made a specialty tool for it. The new sensor also has the shroud.
@EfurdGarage2 жыл бұрын
@@acolytemt that is possible. The pontiac does use delco. But i have had to use toyota brand do to discounted delco parts. Same engine harness so either will work. Seen more imports have the sheild then domestic

It will work, i dont use a rubber mallet do to the give of one, i use ball pings in those cases. But same concept and that trick with hammers works well, kinda a primitive impact if you will
