While this video is helpful, there should be some sort of disclaimer about at what stakes these strategies are most effective. When you said we want our opponents to have KK when we 4-bet because they will fold them, do you think that happens at anything around 25NL or lower? Because in my experience (I am no expert but have played for a long time), people just don't fold KKxx. What would be really great, would be to post a video of you employing these strategies at the micros, to see how you do.
@joeregan634 жыл бұрын
Decent guide, but 4 bet bluff strategy for live low stakes PLO really needs to be left in the classroom right now. Most players are hyper loose passive preflop and a 3 bet is aces nearly 100%. The ones who do 3 bet, often do it so much that we can just get hands like AQJTds in for value at 100 bb.
@Jealod244 жыл бұрын
Maybe you haven’t played low stakes in a long time but people don’t fold... and the certainty don’t fold kings to 4 bets. And I’m not saying this is bad for us, merely our play should be adjusted slightly with this in mind.
@richardmiddleton59843 жыл бұрын
What PLO players will 4 bet, rather than potting when playing low stakes? The only time I see people betting less than pot, is when they having a weak/speculative hand, and are trying to control the betting, or they have the nuts on the river, and are value betting.

@dylanweisman17524 жыл бұрын
Strategy definitely changes some 9 handed. Ranges are tighter, and you need to adjust accordingly. For example, If you are UTG, get 3bet by UTG +1, you aren't going to want to 4 bet often because UTG+1 will have such a strong range.

4 bet bluff? considering the min buyin is so much in so many places (unlike the cheap $100-1000 at a couple places here in south florida) but the vast majority of the time u are ALLIN preflop on either a 3 bet or a 4 bet. unless u got like $1000 or more in front of u in $1-2 PLO. even then u have so little behind u cant bluff.

4betting as a bluff is just dumb cause people in general never 4 to 4bets. Especially when both players are more than 100+ deep. There’s no point in 4betting 89tj$ds and shoving any flop because any Axxx$ss will call your 4bet and they’ll stack off on any piece of the flop. That’s just increasing variance for no reason,

You can make a lot of money raising pre flop, until you lose. You simply increase the variance. Raising pre flop in PLO is a loser, because the equities are too close and you have no information.
@teecee44593 жыл бұрын
Can't be worried about rake at the micros because you're pretty much NEVER winning pots preflop, nobody's folding to any size raises, so you're going to lose a lot more playing like that to beat the rake than just playing cautious to stack a donkey. Focus should be on attacking donkeys with good plays, not worrying about rake.

@dylanweisman17524 жыл бұрын
Hey hey! Just gonna reply quickly here to this question (even though it wasn't asked in the most respectful of ways ;)). If you want a full background, look at my bio on Upswing: upswingpoker.com/about-us/dylan-weisman/ The tl;dr is that I've been playing poker for about 13 years at this point, with PLO being my main game for about 8 of those years. I consistently beat the largest live cash games available (that aren't private because I don't get let in to those games), as well as am a consistent winner online through 10/20. I have a background in both exploitative and GTO approaches to the game, and my teaching style respects both of these backgrounds. Everything said in this video is 100% Monker Solver approved, so choosing to ignore it probably isn't in your best interest.

I'm confused, nobody is folding pre-flop or post-flop in Omaha games almost ever, so how are you supposed to make money when people fold? This is a drawing game and everybody is always chasing, and somebody's around to hit something that they'll pay off with on the river so you better have the nuts if you want to win
@georgedimulescu73034 жыл бұрын
When you 4 bet hands like AQT9 a good player will know you don't have aces most of the time. I'd all in KKT9 KK JT AKKQand more with pleasure and equity on 100-150BBs so half of what you say about KK hands is bullshit. Rest of guide is ok
@timhan92643 жыл бұрын
I think the 4b advice rly makes sense within the context of playing deep (200bb+) stacks against ppl who have a wider 3betting range. For example, with more skilled players at higher stakes, button strategy should include 3betting cutoff preflop raise with a wider range, so cutoff should then have some sort of 4bet strategy that isn't only AAxx. Sure, you can rejam all your strongest KKxx, but villain still has AAxx with a significant frequency which can also dominate your straight outs in that spot, especially if their 4b strategy is defined by stuff like AQT9ds+. Although KKQJds is a 60/40 favorite against exactly AQJTds, once you start including their AAxx combos into the mix, I think a good 4bet range is definitely protected enough where jamming even your strongest KKxx every single time might be a losing play in the long run. I mostly agree with your point about AKKx since you block an A, I'd rip that all day. On the other hand, 5b shoving an UTG 4b with KKxx is probably losing most of the time given UTG range. However, at 100bb, no one is 4b folding with the aforementioned range. They have to call every time given the odds. Therefore, I think that means that more often than not, it's AAxx when you get 4bet in this case. I've noticed that at lower stakes and live play, this all usually goes out the window since it's almost always multi way, and nobody really has a 3/4bet strategy that makes sense. I don't think anyone 3/4bets enough in these kind of games where having a 4bet bluff strategy is really helpful.
