+AJR 1986 the bari, to me, is WAAAAAAY easier to control than than the alto and tenor, mainly because of the huge mouthpiece. But we are the (common) bass of the saxes. The uncommon are the contrabass, and sub contrabass.

+Tyler Aber When I was in sixth grade, I was alto at first. I asked to be bari, and he said no because I was a girl and couldn't handle it. I tried it and was amazing at it. I went though middle school miserable because I was playing an instrument that I didn't like. Finally, in highschool, my new director allowed me to play bari. I'm much happier. Do what you think you'll enjoy, and if you don't like it, try something else. Good luck! -Yuuki

They are quite literally the exact same as the alto, that's why most times alto's move down to a bari because it's in the same key. There are a few extra notes added to the bottom, but don't worry about those too much for right now. Hope this helped!
