Hay thanks you for showing how a beginner can get started on a basic carving, just take your time first carving may not turn out great but just keep at it and they will get better. I tried it with my dermal tool. I want to use my carving knives they are really sharp blades I sharpen them to cut through wood with a breeze even hard wood.

There are three types of carpenters. One does only doors, windows and ceiling beams for houses, The second slightly advanced, does show cases, wardrobes, shelves. The third is very artistic, highly skilled and intelligent. Does statues, fine carved wooden sculptures etc. My respects to you, the third kind of artist. Regards.

Master I have a question. Shouldn't the wood be soft enough, or the chisels sharp enough, so that the process could be performed without the use os a mallet to strike the chisel to carve the wood?
