My wife collects it, one of her favourite things I've bought her is an Amber colour uranium glass stone on a silver and gold brooch.

Jewellery seems popular in Uranium. Good idea to buy broken vases, plates etc and re-purpose them into pendants!

There are also antique clocks that have hands that are painted with radium to make them glow and there is also a type of orange pottery known as fiestaware that is glazed with uranium.

You’re so right. In my next book (out 2023) I write about the luminous faces on watches and the damage they caused!!

The bad stuff is uranium 235, which is less than 1% of naturally occurring uranium. So you have a small amount of a small amount and it only gets excited and reactive when you extract U235 to the right level of purity.

This is the only Depression glass that still sells here. (the pink and the clear ? You're paying to have it taken away.) I bet if that UV case of glass were taken to a Comicon or similar it would be empty in minutes and someone would try to buy the cabinet! They made some of it into jewelry too - sells like crazy if you can find some.

@@DavidHarperAntiquesTV I was handed, literally, a set of dessert dishes years ago. My young cousin begged them off of me once she saw what they did under a blacklight. Techological/science/geek types want it for what it does.
