This is a review of the Urban carry G series of holsters. There are variations between the G1, G2 and G3. Our focus in this video is the practicality of the holster since the design basics are identical. The Urban Carry G2 is being used for the purpose of this video. Thanks for watching!

It is intriguing that this review is done almost strictly verbally. The issues are never demonstrated, so one must trust 100% that what you are saying is valid. I will go with reviews that show the pros and cons over just blabbing things that may or may not be true. Also, the human body, clothing styles, et cetera, are significantly different, person-to-person, so this can be, at best, subjective and invalid without people examining this for themselves.

Thank you for the honest review; I do agree it is bulky. I have one of these for my S&W M&P Shield 9 2.0, and the reason I like to wear it is not necessarily because of concealment, (although it does do that), but the main reason is comfort. It's a lot more comfortable for me to wear this holster inside the front of my pant leg than it is for the grip of the gun to be digging into my side with an inside the pants holster. Anyway that's my two cents for what it's worth. 🙂

I have a g3 and I really like it. I used leather conditioner for about a week to really break it in, and adjusted the retention system to my preference. It's comfortable and I like the fact that it stays concealed. Now I wear cargo pants, so it doesn't stand out. It looks like a phone in my pocket. I don't wear jeans which might be why I prefer this holster more. But after a couple days of leather conditioner, it molded to my gun and I have no issues taking it out. The only issue I have is that it's heavy. I have to tighten my belt tighter than expected to hold it in place. As a result I'm not able to draw straight up, but if I pull at an angle I have no issues.

Hands down the best non-shoulder conceal carry holster I've ever used and I've got a couple of drawers full of all manner of other waist holsters. The primary benefit of this holster is by far the lack of discomfort that is seemingly unavoidable using any other 'Kydex" or leather holsters, especially when sitting. "Huge Huge massive, massive piece sitting on your leg'" was not my experience (lol) and I didn't have to go out and buy 'Massive' clothes either but different strokes for different folks. If I wear this holster at the 1:00 position and conceal-carry my Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm it is barely noticeable and even if it does 'print' it is very difficult to tell that you are carrying a pistol. OTOH, whenever I've 'printed' with a pistol wearing a more traditional waist holster, it is almost always very obvious that I'm wearing a pistol, with this holster, not so much. All that said, for anyone carrying larger pistols, then maybe you will have an experience similar to what is described in the video but unless you are really thin or wear really baggy clothes, you're probably going to have issues trying to conceal carry larger pistols with any waist holster. In that case, one might consider using a shoulder holster or perhaps just open carry if it is legal in your state.

Excellent analysis and concise well written response. Now, I don't know the reviewer and have seen nothing but his hands. Albeit, in order to fulfill his descriptions, my mind is forced to interpret all his complaints as being due to the bulk filling his clothing. I personally do not own a G series but have friends, male and female, who own and swear by them. I DO have and use daily other Urban Carry products and admit I maintain a positive bias toward them--but, only because, after countless other holsters, I've found Urban Carry surpasses all for everyday carry comfort and affording of confident concealment.

There's no bulk if you wear it at the "12:15" position, in front of your first belt loop. It sits nicely between your inner thigh and your junk and is invisible from the outside. I really like mine, but wouldn't recommend using this with a pistol any larger than a Sig P365, and it helps if you're slim.

Thanks for the honest review. I thought about the G3 but I have had the same reservations. I pocket carry my Bodyguard using a pocket holster that looks like a wallet facing outward. The Bodyguard is safe by itself since its DAO with a heavy trigger pull and has a thumb safety. I think I will try another type of deep concealment holster called the Smart Carry. Has received favorable reviews and comments. Looks to be comfortable, and safe, with no printing (unless someone mistakes the bulge for something else - LOL so you may even get lucky). I put a compact pistol in a Sticky holster in the same place in my jeans (yes, it was unloaded), and I don't think it would print badly on me. To me, does not appear much bigger than my wallet or my cell phone in my front pocket. But I wear fairly loose jeans. That said, I will think twice about buying this holster, as it looks like it would be nearly impossible to draw when sitting down, e.g., when sitting in your vehicle. That is a foreseeable tactical situation. I'm not sure that's a game changer. But it does give me pause.

I have years of experience with concealed holsters and there are three things I look for. 1. Can I get to the gun with one hand. I could be fighting with someone or one of my hands is injured. If I can’t get to it with one hand then that is a strike against it. 2. Can I reholster the gun with one hand. Again there could be an issue with one hand for whatever reason and I may need to reholster with one hand. 3. Which is probably the biggest one is can I draw the gun one haded from the seated position. In my car I may need to draw my gun one handed. 4. If I’m rolling around on the ground and I need to defend myself can I access the gun. I throw all of these issues out there because I have taken several classes where you are required to show proficiency with all four of these issues. If you are placing comfort of wear higher than access to your gun at critical moments then you need to really think about these issues and put your holster through the test. If it can’t pass all four issues then get a new holster. And if you are wondering I have been in real situations where my holster has passed all four issues. Comfort is not high on the list for concealment. It’s a factor but should not be number one.

I've seen this on another channel, and that creator's review was all for this type of holster for conceal carry. Purchased defective holster on Thursday. Urban Carry contacted me on Tuesday and said gun frame dents/damage was my fault because retention screw was too loose, lol! They didn’t even ask to send in holster for review, made their decision on my remarks and pictures provided. They said gun was going to forward, freakin losers. Once you pass retention clips, the trigger front guard hits the grommet. Anyway, stopped by Ace Hardware today and added another grommet spacer, holster works fine now BUT unnecessary damage already occurred. I assume the leather holster pattern was cut to small or retention clips were placed wrong position. Anyway, I’ll be sharing my experience on several website platforms and hope they enjoy the free advertising!

Because the only other choices are ... Clint Eastwood Shoulder Holster ? Pocket ? -or- Belt. Now goin the Clint route might work for some. and the pocket works for me & my Favorite carry ( DB9 ) smallest 9mm on Earth. But with most guns your left with your "Waist Area' . either ON your Belt or some sort of "Belly Band" type Velcro thing. & for me ... I can never get comfortable with a gun on my belt. Only other way is to swing it almost to the middle which means you need space for TWO large things between your legs (sorry). Sitting was terrible to try and draw. I can see this if you are thin and wear baggy pants, maybe. I even tried it cross draw to keep it on the left side but pointed toward my butt as much as I could---it would work better that way with an adjustable bolt between the top and bottom portions. Hmmm this give me an idea. May start building my own! This guy mentions pocket carrying but I cant imagine carrying my Taurus G3 in a pocket. Good concept, bad operation. Not only do you look like you got wood all day, the draw is really really long and high. I tried to pull it half way but the gun is not exposed enough to grab. The best location i found is moving it almost to 3 o'clock. This way the majority of the bulk is behind your pocket but when you sit down, oh my God! Your pants slide up and gets tucked under the tip of this thing. You better sit under a table or desk. Fyi, the return process is expensive. You pay for shipping and handling. I don't know if I'll send mine back now. $20 -30 bucks to mail it back. It has a place and use just not for me. You better take cover before you try to deploy your weapon using this. It's gonna take a minute

Seems like it would be a better option for shorts as opposed to the pants you tried it with. Also, I can think of a couple good responses when some nosy Karen ask me what the big bulge on my leg is. Just sayin’

"This is my experience" while reviewing a holster that isn't even close to being broken in. Wear it around your house/property for a while and once it's broken in give us another review.

The problem with this is that you spend hard earned money to essentially "test" out the holster and in the end if it still doesn't work out after the "break in" period, you are then outside of the "return" period. Even if that wasn't the case, you generally can't return a product that is "used". Unless of course the company is so confident that you will like/keep the holster that they offer a satisfaction guarantee with a no-questions asked refund policy.

There really isn't any good way to conceal a firearm on your body...at least not one that I have found anyway. There is always a tradeoff. Deep concealment that can't be seen is always difficult (way too difficult) to access Or Easily accessible concealed arms always print like a mofo. The best option is open carry but that's not always available.

I thought it looked like I was wearing a colostomy bag. Not a good look. I've got one of the older leather fanny-pack holsters that I've used for a couple of decades that I think is way better than this. Yes, people who know, know. Cops generally, but since they are the ones that typically used these, they usually just assume I'm a cop and give me a nod. I've never had one bother me about it. For everyone else, I'm just an old boomer in his late 50s with no fashion sense (which is better than a colostomy bag), and instead of some subcompact compromise I've got my Hi-power and 2 extra mags, comfortably.

This is NOT a fair review. I am not a user and just looking for pro & cons of different styles to pick but you made a video & review based on using the SMALLEST pistol in your collection. Sure it will look bulky with a mini pistol. Try to conceal a 4" Sig P320 or Gluck 19 and then tell me if its good or not. Who carries a 3" pistol in a big holster? you can conceal that in your hand.

Warning, this is an inaccurate review, that g series holster was not even broken in, this is extremely important when it comes to this type of holster. This man did not give the holster a fair chance and did not read or at least disregarded what urban carry says to do concerning getting the holster broken in before you use it for edc. You can’t express an accurate review on it unless you first completely break it in and give it a fair chance. Forget 1 o’clock, posistion it so the weapon rides under your strong side front pocket, where ever on the clock face that may be. G series holsters are not for everyone, that break in part seems to be what causes negative stuff concerning reviews I’ve seen, you have to break it in, then I’ll listen to your opinion on it.

Definitely just a gimmick just making something different. I prefer appendix carry to 4 o'clock position.

Dude! You need to make videos as if was you watching the video and what you'd want to see! from the review. You didn't show yourself using it! If you need to get someone who "knows how to use" a video camera. Then do it! I gave you a "Thumbs Down"
