That elf sunscreen always pills up on me. It sucks because i wanted to love it. I now use a Beauty of Josen one and love it.

Aw no that’s a bummer!! I use it a lot and haven’t had issues but I suspect it’s causing some of the problems I had during this wear test 😬
@RGJenn6 ай бұрын
I have that same issue with the elf sunscreen! It's fine on its own on no-makeup days, but I have had pilling with most of the foundations I've paired it with, including the elf camo cc cream, both the regular one and the hydrating one.

I really wanted to try this and should’ve bought it during the Sephora sale, but I didn’t. I waited til after to try it. I’m almost 66 with probably normal skin. I’ve only worn this twice, but both times I really liked it. It lasted really well on me. It didn’t look any worse than any other foundation in the areas that I have to do more buffing. It didn’t settle into lines and wrinkles- granted thankfully I don’t have a ton of wrinkles, but I do have some -so yeah I was actually really pleased with it. Your review is very helpful. I didn’t catch what kind of skin you have -you probably said it and I just didn’t hear it. Anyway, thank you so much. I really appreciate it!

This is very helpful to know 😊 Thank you for sharing as I have combination skin.

I only wore sunscreen bc it happened to be in my one moisturizer that I put on morning and night lol but it was spf 15 and YALL IT WAS NOT ENOUGH. Especially where I commuted to work and spent a total of probably 1.5 hours in the car every single day, car windows don’t block uva which causes the aging prematurely and cancer. Had no idea how sunscreen actually worked too, I thought it sunk in to the skin, it doesn’t, it forms a film over the skin, and if you disturb it buffing makeup in to the moon and back, the film is disrupted. I wish I’d had LabMuffinBeautyScience when I was younger, y’all have the opportunity now, use her!

This is the One that I have been watching reviews for ever since I fell out of love with my MAC Pro Longwear WP foundation because of it oxidizing when I used it last year having not used it since mid autumn here in Arizona. I'm 65 years old, combination skin with a very oily t-zone, still get breakouts (especially when it really warms up out here!), deep smile and expression lines, but almost no fine lines. Even though I am half Indigenous American (Comanche and Abenaki Nations) and my mother is white, I DO have sun spots from believing falsely that I really didn't need strong sunscreen, as I don't burn. As of around 10-11 years ago, I began to use spf 30+ almost always mineral sunscreen to prevent it worsening. My favorite one by FAB was dc'd, so I began using Black Girl Sunscreen last year, and it's chef's kiss! Not mineral, but really good stuff for foundation to apply smoothly to and no flashback in photography. Another really wonderful one is Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen!

You know how you always encourage us to put on sunscreen? And you know how they say one should reapply sunscreen after a few hours? How do you handle that when you where foundation? Do you not reapply? Is there a particular sunscreen that is good to apply Over one's foundation?
@MakeupJustForFun6 ай бұрын
I personally like to use a spray SPF for reapplication over makeup (Supergoop, e.l.f. and La Roche Posay all make good ones) but if I am in intense sun I feel like the spray might not cut it for me. For those times, like at a baseball game for example, I use a sunscreen stick. Usually just a little touch up powder on top of the reapplication looks just fine with my existing makeup!

I picked this up in the Sephora- I've always had good luck in the past with UD foundations., so I was really interested in trying this out. This has worked SO well for me! But then I've got oily skin. I've only tested it with the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen so far- but works great with it. I apply it with a blurring brush (IT cosmetics Airbrush omg brush), because I want to try and get a flawless airbrushed look. So far, so good! (I know you had some issues with it- but despite that, it sill looked really good on camera & in most places on your face!)

I have pretty dry skin and I try to moisturize well before putting my foundation on, and this did not work for me, I had to return it

Yeah I agree it’s def not my fave for this dry gal but I do think it was better than I expected 😬

I’d definitely try a different sunscreen, I’ve had a few foundations not work well with the elf sunscreen. The foundation piling with the elf sun screen forced me to go back to the glow screen, nice dupe but it doesn’t jive well with all of my foundation preferences.

I'd like to know your thoughts on the new Anastasia Balm foundation please, it looks promising!

I heard it isn't good for dry skin,it clings to texture and dry patches. 😅

Speaking from experience, wear sunscreen. It makes a huge difference. Also from experience, reapply sunscreen. Match your foundation to your sunscreen. I also pick a sunscreen that works with the tint, the foundation and/or primer I use.

💯 I have a reputation in my family for carrying around SPF everywhere and forcing all of them to apply it constantly. I even offer sunscreen to random strangers who usually appreciate the offer 🤣 They call me (jokingly? lovingly?) the sunscreen police 🤣🤣

Which is the best way to reapply over makeup (powder)?
@kayla47026 ай бұрын
Haha. I love knowing what you're having. I too get excited to cook and make dinner. 😊 Also, this was a helpful review. I have combination skin with a dry forhead, oily on the rest of my tzone and breakout prone. Im tempted to try this both because Angie likes it with her combo skin and because I have liked Urban Decay foundations in the past. Thanks for sharing it more in depth. 😊

I've checked out loads of reviews for this; it seems to do better for oily and normal skinned folks. It seems to me to pull yellow on most reviewers, even the neutral shades, although yours didn't as far as I could tell. As a fellow dry-mature-skin gal I think I may give this a pass.

I have a sunscreen oil that I use. It looks great under Estee Lauder Double Wear and other matte foundation formulas. It's called Mele Sunscreen Oil.
