This was a team that could've hired Eric Bienemy to help develop their new franchise QB, and instead went with the hottest coaching prospect of 2007 likely because of his fan base in north Florida. They used their coaching hire, one of the most important decisions a team can make, as a short term asses in seats move instead of a winning move. Which is the thing that will actually put asses in seats. 2-11 records go to those who earn them. Say this much for Urban, though... for most of their existence the Jaguars could have been contracted and I would've barely noticed that they were gone. They weren't even worth the effort required to point and laugh at. Urban definitely changed that. 🤣

The most insane part of this is Khan knew about the kicking incident months ago so why after everything else did he fire Meyer at this point. He had to know what he hired when he chose Meyer ages ago. Meyer has been an extremely severe cancer since the start of preseason and it's been obvious since late September maybe early October at the latest that he had to go. So why now when the season is not just blown but maximum damage has already been inflicted on the players, especially the rookies, and when changing out Meyer now only leads to a general sense of chaos in the locker room?
@wsimmons9203 жыл бұрын
Because he wants Urban to be the coach and possibly bring butts to the seats. Why he wasnt fired in August, simple, the media didn't know. @cstains55433 жыл бұрын
@@MrRyan-wu4jx I said he should have been fired. Thought they should have pulled off the scab more than a month ago. It's just at this point it's pointless to have done it. You don't have enough time as the interim head coach to fix anything in effectively less than four weeks and the rookies have already suffered maximum damage under Meyer for this year. The interim coach doesn't get much of a chance to show he's capable of taking over meaning that five weeks from now he's effectively fired too more than likely. Meaning more chaos and confusion. Worst possible scenario.

@@denimchicken8080 You don't seem to understand what I'm saying. Every reason to fire Urban was there months ago. The kicking of a player, while not known to the public was known inside the organization, as was all the rest of Urban's various toxic actions which apparently have been going on for almost his entire time with the team. Waiting until now was pointless, not firing him. Waiting inflicted as much damage as possible on the team. It also creates a situation where the interim has no hope of establishing anything like a resume for the job or giving him much time to fix the broken parts of the team..
