Good job guys, this was such an awesome video! I didn't realise Sheffield had that many abandoned buildings, I definitely want to embark on my own mission to visit these one day. I remember probably 8 years ago going to a birthday party at the Ski Village and having the food in one of those abandoned rooms, it's a shame about it all really.

I enjoyed this video very much. Typically, on many Urban Exploration videos you get the sense that the Explorers think they know everything there is to know about the subjects (a certain bravado). What was also nice here was the humility, the sense that perhaps you didn't know as much but gave it your best shot in the name of or for the sake of exploration. Exxellent all around.

It's so sad to feel that once I worked on security on a event where "Eddy the Eagle" did a record jump at the Ski village back in 1995. Memories of the busy place and watching all people ski down the slope viewed from the roof of the Kelvin flats I was also working security on when they were being knocked down. I walked around thousands of empty apartments where people once lived as well as the pubs. I real eye opener back then. Thanks for sharing.

Living in Sheff, Ive been to a few of these places myself out of interest. Particularly Ski village, which ive always had a fascination with since it (mysteriously) burnt down a few years ago. I don't think its emphasised enough how important documentations like this are, these buildings are relics to Sheffield's past, as well as the social and cultural history they take on after its perceived death. These spaces take on new life through through Graff culture (another thing Sheffield does really well). Anyone whose into urban exploration and lives in/ near Sheff should definitely give this a look!

Decent little film mate, enjoyed it. Well put together. I've seen a few of Sheffields alternative attractions myself. Not a fan of 28DL though, doesn't do these places any favours so I've learned. Surprised you never ran into any other groups of people at the courthouse, it's usually heaving. Feel free to drop us a line if you fancy some umbox related chit chat.

This is very interesting, although as a Sheffieder born and bred it makes me sad when I think of how many empty and derelict buildings there are in the city. Just to let you know, if you can see the dust/fibres, it isn't asbestos, 10,000 asbestos fibres can fit on a human hair !! Also If you have stubble, the masks do no good at all !! You can take the fibres back into your houses and everywhere else you go from what is on your clothes, so potentially you could have sentenced family and friends to die, also I hope you washed your hands, as you can ingest it as well !! Happy exploring !!

Asbestos is nowhere near as deadly as you're saying. Yes Its bad for yout health and can cause cancers, but this is a risk only to people who work with or are exposed to it frequently, ie builders etc It wont kill your whole family just from entering a building with it in
@beachboss73209 жыл бұрын
Asbestos is very weird, my grandad died of it well into his 80's and used to eat it when it was on is sandwiches when he worked in construction in the old days. He was healthy all the way up until his late 80's then all of a sudden got incredibly ill and died in a matter of months, all because of the asbestos from years ago, but it could have been anything that got him at that age. On the flip side there was a bloke on the same street who used to work removing asbestos, he would come home, say hello to his daughter and wife, but not touch them, then quickly walk through the house to get changed and de contaminate in the back yard. From working with asbestos he ingested and breathed in loads on a daily basis but new the dangers and tried to keep his family well away from it, But that 2 seconds of walking through the house was all it took for his daughter to get ill and die from respitory issues because of the invisible amounts of asboestos that fell into the hallway, which is incredibly sad and you just wouldn't think that would even happen when your being so carefull. I think some people it gets really bad others can be fine and never get anything or at least until your really old.
@cjmillsnun9 жыл бұрын
+Ross Johnson Please educate yourself. Exposure to asbestos just once can kill. It's something that won't show up for 20-30 years after exposure. The wives of men who worked in asbestos mills also got ill as they were exposed washing their husband's clothes. Generally if asbestos is encapsulated then it is safe. if however an asbestos containing material is damaged, it is dangerous.
