Hi Holly I live in Florida it’s very humid in the summer months and less humid in winter. The wind from the gulf does help. Also the other night I was listening to a guest of yours talking about borage and comfrey I loved learning new things about those. But I wanted to say these two plants are related. Comfrey is the best if you hurt yourself muscle ,joints and even the bones. They say make sure area is clean cause comfrey will heal it over and can cause infection. I planted some by my banana and papaya tree❤

I have a lemon/lime tree its beautiful. I moved into my house last year just as they were ripening, I had so many. I ended up preserving them in jam jars, I cut them into thin slices, removed all of the pips and packed them into sterilised jars in between layers of honey. Some I added ginger to 5% of them also. I stored them in the fridge. I used them for tea, just add a couple of tble spoons to hot water and the ginger/Honey ones are great for a sore throat. These were a hit, I gave some away at xmas time they were a big hit. Another idea for your lemons or limes

I'm still in the middle of seed starting in Perth, it's been a new adventure for me but so far everything has sprouted. I'm also dealing with chilli thrip which has decimated my two chilli plants. I think it might be time to admit defeat and pull them out.

Yay! grow little babies grow! I still have to plant more seeds. Oh no at least that leaves room for something else to florish.

Hey Holly! I started seed sowing last week a 30 cell tray of Radish, Beetroot, Spring Onions, Red Onions, and Roma Tomatoes. I planted out six Broad Bean, six Grosse Lisse Tomatoes, sowed a drill of multicolored carrots, and planted out six Rainbow Chard seedlings. I also have planted 3 x Mortgage Lifter and 3 x GenuWine tomatoes, under-storied by Marigolds, Basil, and Alyssum. I had pests wipe out some Asian Greens and a meter high hibiscus was destroyed by grasshoppers. I ripped these out and will plant Ginger in place of the Hibiscus and Rocket in place of the Asian Greens. My meter high curry plant has given up six of its leaves for a Thai Pumpkin and Eggplant curry last night. Looking for more recipes that use the curry plant. I have a surfeit of Lemon Thyme that I will dry to make a herb salt and start using the remaining fresh plant for tea. Thanks for the lime drying idea. I have an everbearing lime tree that gives up about 250 limes a year, so I am always looking for ways to use it. Love your channel and agree with you about humidity...I was born into it and still don't enjoy it. Cheers!

Hi Craig! What a delicious combination of food you have on the go! Very happy to see Rainbow Chard in there haha 🌈 Oh no! those grasshoppers can really do some damage! I lost a Rhubarb which I thought was strange...maybe they are immune to the toxic leaves of that.

Over here in New Jersey, USA my garden is just starting. Peaches, plums, and Asian pears are all flowering but I haven't seen any pollenators yet. We had a late frost so I'm worried some of the insects got killed.
@SustainableHolly2 жыл бұрын
Oh, the joys of Spring!🌸 Hopefully, they show up soon. I'm sure if you have created a pollinator-friendly garden they will soon show up again 🤞

Hi Holly, do you have trouble with fruit fly in your garden? We have lots, and I'm wondering if you or anyone has a great recipe for fruit fly traps? I tried vegemite but it didn't work. Maybe yeast? Thanks for your relaxing videos, I'm in WA too and it is so great to be a part of your garden with familiar climate,. soil, plants and seasons. You keep me grounded. 😊

Hello! Yay welcome to my channel! I actually haven’t had a problem with them up until this year. I noticed some with my feijoas so it’s definitely something I will need to look into! I have a lot of guavas so I know they really like them 🌱

Remember that vitamin C complex begins breaking down above 30C. I'd do the lime/lemon dehydrating at perhaps 40-45C max. Yes it means that there's zero vitamin C in all the (cooked) juices in the stores. They may add some chemical factory ascorbic acid, but that's only one component of the vitamin C complex - so not recommended. What all those store juices DO have is bulk sugar, they're actually worse than soft drinks - which you should never ever consume of course.
