They're now naming places after him like George Floyd Square in Minneapolis. Now, we know what kind of person he was when he was alive. The infamous pistol whipping a pregnant woman case and much more. But, I think if the cop wasn't on top of him and he just passed out then they would have known to administer narcan. He had swallowed the fentanyl he had in order to avoid the possession charge. He needed IMMEDIATE medical attention. He died of an overdose (and remember, swallowing a gram of fentanyl is a big fucking deal. Narcan might not have been enough). What I'm really afraid of is the cop being sent to prison for life for murder just to prevent another round of riots. The reality is, he died from a fentanyl overdose. He may not have died if it wasn't for the negligence of the police standing around him and the guy on top of him. But, he was not murdered on purpose by strangulation. That's not what happened as it turns out in the end. So, do we put those cops away forever out of fear of people because they think they can't contain their emotions and will burn the cities down again? Or do they get a genuine day in court over this with appropriate charges? Do we sacrifice a couple people to prevent the inevitable violence and many more deaths that will happen from riots if they aren't sacrificed? Or do we bite the bullet and be honest about what actually happened? I actually don't know. It's a shame to sacrifice people out of fear especially in our justice system, but it's also terrifying to see the future consequences of not going along with the human sacrifice. We'll see.

I think Derek Chauvin is being sent to prison for murder because he murdered someone. The official cause of death was not an OD, it was asphyxiation. Mr. Chauvin was arrested, had his time in court, was tried by a jury who deliberated over the appropriate charges that were brought against him and he was ultimately convicted. I don't see this as sacrificing anyone, in my mind this is how the justice system is supposed to work for everyone.

I love how people are making a guy who robbed places, held a gun up to a pregnant woman, supposedly said that he changed, despite being under the influence when arrested (yes In the video) a martyr. I mean no one deserves to die, especially like goergle Floyd did, my heart goes out for his family, but this guy is not a hero.

How did we get to the point that you can’t call a bad dude a bad dude until you find out the color of his skin? That white cop was a bad dude but George Floyd was not a hero. People are calling them George Floyd “King Floyd” and Breonna Taylor “Queen Taylor.” Its crazy.

Help me understand what coffin he was buried in has to do with what I'm saying. People choose all kinds of coffins for their family to be buried in. Regardless of how you feel about the man, he was still someone's son, someone's father, and someone's sibling. What they decided to bury him in seems like a completely separate conversation.

The autopsy showed that he died from lack of oxygen. Not saying that he didn't have a drug problem and that he didn't swallow Fentanyl prior to being held down. However, the official cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation and his death was ruled a homicide.
