The only reason I could think of gel polish weakening you're nails is that you either have some kind of allergy to something in the gel polish or the gel polish itself. But like you said it all depends on how the person uses gel polish on their nails. Really informative video! 👍

Thank you so much! And trust me I know the need this is why I started doing my own nails because it is very rare to find a licensed nail technician that is actually doing the right thing it’s crazy right I know. But this year I’ll be focusing on my education and training and I have a huge plans for that to try to get some ethics and quality back into this part of the beauty industry because it is desperately needed!

Hi! I’ve been trying to grow natural nails for years, but I can never get past a certain length. My pinky/ring finger grow longer than my other 3 nails, and just seems “par for the course” at this point…or so I thought. I just stumbled upon your channel, and boy howdy I can’t wait to see more videos! Your knowledge makes me want to know more about what you do and how you do it! If you made an online masterclass, I’d absolutely pay for it! But I do have a question. What is the proper way to remove gel polish? How do I ask for this in salons that are not particularly natural nail savvy? I want gel nails, as I do feel they protect my nails in a lot of ways, but they almost always get broken down by an unknown ing technician. Haaaalp!!! And also thank you for doing what you do!

I am so happy that the information is helpful I promise my methods are guaranteed to work your nails will be stronger longer and healthier! I have so much more to share. The healthiest way to remove gel polish is soaking off with acetone. Most salons don’t do this anymore because it does take time so I personally would recommend that you soak your own gel off at home I’ll be doing more videos on this definitely make sure you follow my IG @oh_my_gel i’ll be posting more videos regularly on how I soak off very simple and what struggles you can come across when soaking off how to work with it but essentially how to make sure your nails are maintained healthy!

Hey! Thank you so much. I think I already touched on this subject in one of my videos I did last year. Gel curing lamps UV vs led. I don’t remember it too well but definitely check it out I’m pretty sure I brought that up but it’s been like a year so I can totally be wrong LOL Check it out and if I did not specifically talk about that just drop a comment so that I see it and I’ll make sure to add it to my to do list definitely a subject that everyone needs clear communication on

Do you use or recommend builder gel over natural nails to add an extra layer of strength, aside from using gel polish? Thanks in advance!!
@TheNaturalNailGuru2 жыл бұрын
I strictly only work with natural nails, and soak off gel products. I don’t recommend any hard gel‘s for my clients because there’s too much risk in the preparation process that could work against keeping nails healthy such as using electric files and also maintaining the product on the nail plate and just filling in as it grows out. For my clients who desire a stronger product I use soak off structure gel and it is removed with each manicure and reapplied freshly.

I had nail gel on my nails over a year ago. I have never been able to get it all the way off my nails! Ive files til the remaining gel is very thin but it won't come off.It was a soak off but it just stay hard & now my nails won't grow beyond almost the tip of my fingers. There's parts in the middle that I got off but the sides still have nail gel holding on. Is there something that can break it down? y nail beds must not be able to breathe, the cuticle seems tofus to the product. I push them back but growth is next to impossible. I used vrenmol & I texted them & showed them my nails & they said I have a fungus. There are some dark marks & Ive been using nail fungus products. I know thats a slow process. Do you know anything that might break this gel down to get it off my nails?

How do you feel about the removal of nail wraps? To remove them you just soak your hands in water for about 10 minutes, and they are supposed to peel right off? I am leery since I know you have said not to soak your nails in water.
@TheNaturalNailGuru2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t actually used nail wraps but if it’s removed just by soaking in water than that’s great you don’t have to use any acetone which can definitely be very drying to the skin. You just definitely want to make sure to allow the water to fully dry from the nail plate before applying other product depending on the thickness of your nails and how much it holds moisture it could take up to 24 hours for moisture to completely be dried out although usually within a few hours you should be good to go.

@@TheNaturalNailGuru OK thank you so much, I really appreciate that information! I did acrylics for years and then I switched to the bioseaweed gel which I do feel like was better for my nails but like I learned from you, it was the removal process that totally ruined my nails. Four months later and I’m just now starting to see some growth and strength. I wish I would’ve found your channel at the very beginning of my journey because it would’ve save me a lot of frustration and heartache because I kept trying to hang onto those nails that were growing out because I was so desperate for length. As you can imagine, they just kept breaking. So I’m at a point now where I do have some strength but until they grow out I’d like to have some color on them. I’m just scared to go back to gel and I thought the nail wraps would be a good way to protect my nails until they are able to grow out a little more. I love your channel it’s so informative. I so wish you were closer to me but so glad for all your clients that they have you. They are so lucky!

Hi, Are you worried at all about potential skin damage from the UV lamps? I've recently seen these UV protection manicure gloves and wondering if you think they are worth it?
@TheNaturalNailGuru2 жыл бұрын
From personal experience I’m not concerned at all. At the end of the day every single artificial light contains UV rays. I use an LED lamp in the shop so it minimizes it drastically however a regular UV lamp offer is just as much UV as being out in the sun for 15 minutes so unless you have a severe sensitivity to that naturally there really is no need for a big concern. But you can never go wrong with extra precaution putting sunblock on your nails before putting your hands in the light I would recommend doing it before the appointment so it’s nice and dry and soaked in before you start putting your hands in the light.

Can you use pudding gel on natural nails?
@TheNaturalNailGuru2 жыл бұрын
Yes putting gel is really just a thicker consistency gel which is really great for nail art and very bold thin application, Generally one coat gives really really great coverage. I love using these for art. Now if the gel product that you were using is a hard gel meaning it does not soak with acetone then you always want to make sure to have an overly base over the natural nails before using that type of color gel polish so that when you file it off you are not damaging the nail plate. I’m pretty sure that the pudding gel polish is suckable though so you would just use a normal gel base coat apply the desired amount of coats of the pudding gel color and then a topcoat 😉
