We use to go to a residential outdoor activity centre at Bala with our primary school. I carn't remember much but the lake is supposed to be haunted by a figure known as 'The Black Nun' unsure whether it's related to to drownings or not. *** If anyone has heard more I'd love to know.*** I have a youtube channel in its early days. Called 'The Witcher of Wales' (check it out if you like) where I travel Wales on my motorcycle and visit locations around Wales and re-tell the Myths and Legends, I have tons of footage to turn into episodes but currently only have one up so far. I would like to travel to Bala soon to tell this tale but I think a lot of people in North Wales would like to hear more about the terrifying Black Nun from their childhood visits to Glan Llyn outdoor retreat.

I haven't been on Bala Lake, but I have seen it on a railway called the Bala Lake Railway that runs along the side of it

Hi there I have a question if you don't mind. Is Llyn Celyn reservoir that was constructed in the 60's and flooded the town of Capel Celyn a part of the same aquifer or drainage system as Lake Bala?

I know of this legend but another version of it to do with town which is that for years people would hear at certain times by the lake the sound of church bells ringing and for years people visiting would witness the ghost bell regularly. Well one summer there was a severe drought and as the water level dropped it revealed the church tower and bell poking above the surface, when the village was submerged though I don't know, I was going to visit but went to the Ramm Inn in Gloucestershire instead
