Sir you packed every square inch of that zip pouch. I have and have had the zip pouch pro for some time and I can't believe you got that that sling bag thing in there much less everything else with it.

Glad to see, that I am not the only one, that puts a small bag in his pouch. Small hint for those: fold them flat, don't stuff them. If you fold them, there profile is much better for such a tiny pouch. After doing that, I was left with a much more handy pouch with everything inside. :)

What’s great kit! I would suggest trying out the smallest size of nanobag (12L shopping bag) for that front pocket, it’s almost as good and would save you some bulk.

Great little kit mate. Really nice. I also found Jon Gadget's channel and he inspired me to make my own EDC pouch, but I got the Maxpedition Mini. I'd love to also build out a smaller kit like this next. I like it.

Well done mate, I was impressed you got everything in the Alpaka pouch but found it a struggle when it came to the power bank. What you ended up sourcing looks pretty and I’d encourage you to get it if you can get it into the Alpaka! Cheers and thanks for the video. This is my first video of yours so I’ll be checking out more as I’d like to see what you pocket carry in addition.

great kit. Iiked all the options that didn't make your cut, but might be useful for someone else. One thing I didn't see could be a short section of mechanics wire, which is like a heavier twistie from bread bags. Takes up little space or weight, and can be useful for many things.

Since you already have a lighter, best to throw in a hot glue gun glue stick. Small and VERY useful if you ever break a key off in a lock. I'd also carry a nail if you need to mark or puncture something

Pretty solid kit, the thing I would throw in the is some kind of charging cable. I like the InCharge X 6-in-1 cable.
@theunknownatheist3815

A few things you might want to consider are a solid glue stick, which you can use with your lighter, and/or a tiny single use tube of super glue. Also, some zip ties, wire ties, a paper clip or 2📎🖇, a pipe cleaner, & maybe some Paracord, or better yet, survivor cord, which is Paracord with inner strands of copper wire, fire 🔥 tinder, and fine thread cords. Also, while the Swiss Army knife is good, I find the Leatheman Squirt to be a little more useful.

FF&F - You have a very sensible kit. I would suggest having the dental floss do double duty as thread for sewing. It's super durable, I have even used it to stitch up leather. A couple anti diarrhea pills are priceless when things go bad. A paper clip might prove useful. I can think of nothing else that might fit other than a flat Fresnel lens.

I prefer hairbands also. I am bald, but my girlfriend always needs them. 😅 They are ok for most elastic daily needs, don’t get sticky if left unused for a long time, and they have one additional use that I have to confess is really useful now that age is striking upon me. I can use then to hold the blood down there, if you catch what I mean.

Hi! Just discovered tour channel! I’ curious about what material is your pouch made of! I found someone saying the dpak 50 be a bit more stiff and less forgiving if you want to stuff it, while the xpak 21 should stretch and adapt a little bit more! Yours seems perfect so I ‘ curious!

That is a very well thought out EDC kit. Honestly, I cannot think of anything to add really, except for maybe bug juice. I ALWAYS have on me a large perfume sample vial filled with my favorite bug juice, DEET. Those perfume sample vials can be had off of ebay in every size you can imagine. I always get the large ones because they're easier to refill and hold enough for a couple applications if you're caught outside after dark. Beats getting eaten alive. Keep up the great work.

This is quite a nice little kit and it has given me some new ideas. I value flatness in my pocket kit and so have used old credit cards to wrap tape and cordage around to avoid having another tubular structure in the bag. I also find myself in need of pliers frequently and have recently added Knipex mini cobra pliers in the 5" length as a replacement for a larger multitool Thank you for the links that you provided, but it would be even more useful if you could add links for the tape and the pouch itself.

Very well-made video you created, and professionally done too I might add. Ok, so, I am going to be a lot more critical than anyone else, as I have edited Books by Urban Survival writers, and I myself am a Professional Wilderness Survival writer. IMO, what you have there is a wonderful Gentlemens EDC bag setup. I could envision my father and uncle, both in their 70's using this exact setup you created. But for someone, much, much younger like myself and those decades younger than me, I just do not see this as being enough for sustainability if something goes South/wrong, with one exception, that marvelous flashlight. SAK is definitely the way to go, but IMO at the very minimum, I would have chosen the SAK Huntsman pocket knife. I personally use both the Victorinox SAK Swiss Champ, & the SAK Work Champ XL. IF I had to choose, I would use the Swiss Champ, not because it is only 1/3 the price, $100 compared to the Work Champ ~$300, but because of the magnifying glass, and that there are some states in the USA with strict knife laws, where the Work Champ would be considered illegal to street carry. I would add: A compass, map, stormproof matches, medical:( anti- diarrhea, Benadryl, activated carbon powder, blood clotting powder, water purification tablets), paracord, carabiner, encrypted USB Flash drive with all your personal & financial information, Mylar Solar blanket, and a Power bank to charge you cell phone.

not realistic to carry for regular daily living, more of a larger pouch for a backpack when touring somewhere or out for a longer visit somewhere
@Survival.Intuition
@Survival.Intuition Жыл бұрын
@@Ashtonishing1812 I am not sure if you were quoting me or the OP. If me, this is something I carry with me whenever I leave the home inside a cell phone bag with shoulder strap. It is only slightly larger than the OPs. If touring, well, this would be a fraction of what I would carry, as I would have a hammock, sleeping bag, straps, more paracord, water filter, mess kit, stove, headlamp, telescoping fishing rod, Crank solar radio, etc...

@Survival.Intuition
@Survival.Intuition Жыл бұрын
@@Ashtonishing1812 I can understand depending on one's location the desire not to carry what I carry with me. I am not sure about you, but I have been in & survived severe Earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, floods, fires, and civil unrest. All of these events came out of the blue, and the result was usually having to trek on foot to a safe haven. I bring this stuff with me now do to SHTF events, and yes, it seems they still occur. Let me ask you 1 question, if any of those above events happened to you, and you didn't have access to your vehicle, how long could you endure/survive the situation, let's say in wintertime? I rather have and not need what I consider the basic essentials then need but not have. Sure, ideally, this wouldn't be a cell phone bag worth of stuff but a bug out bag, but like you mentioned, something much heavier than what I carry would be a lot of extra weight, effort, and quite a huge inconvenience. But with all the mass shootings, rioting, and civil unrest due to Ukraine & Israel & Pakistan here in the US, along with climate change and natural disasters, the question is not if the SHTF but when then SHTF will take place.

First time seeing one of your videos! Firstly, well done! comprehensive but not lengthy explanations and details, I like That you name dropped each product and gave prices where you could as opposed to being the "got this nifty bag that rolls up and just slides right here." kinda guy. Also, i liked the way organized your video description! the only way that improves is using the products actual name or posting links. That said, google is super easy to use and how i will be looking for a few of these items haha suggestions i actually think the super thin powerbank is not a bad thought. but I actually added a flash drive to my edc pouch. I would recommend maybe like a micro sd card inside of a card reader? I did that and put a usb A to usb C adapter on it, super small, and now i can used that memory card in 3 different ways. also, if you wanted to slim down your microfiber cloth, obviously you could cut it, but i actually just replaced mine with a very small one that came included with the screen protector i just bought. its about 10.2cm x 7.6cm (4x3in for my americans lol). super small but more then enough for my glasses, phone or knife. :) definitely gonna try to find some of those nifty plastic pieces you used for your salve!! new sub for sure :)

Love the bag idea! Haven't seen that one before. Also you might try a small first aid organiser as your pouch. They can be quite small (mine is 14x11x3 cm) and allow you to organise your stuff for easy access - which, if you ask me, is priceless :)

A stick of lip balm may be the most ‘bang for the buck’ survival item as it can also protect exposed skin from the cold and dry winter air which sucks the moisture out of skin, making you colder like sweating in summer. I seal my pre-threaded needles in straws.

EDC gear that you find handy during your day is not survival gear. It is just living. For something to be survival your life must be at risk, not just inconvenienced. For urban survival, think self-defense-escaping burning buildings (or earth quakes)-being stranded and/or homeless. I do like those cases you first showed to hold a flashlight/multi-tool/ pen etc. Pocket carry is fine but sometimes you have so much that to get what you need is a hassle, so those pouches that hold everything in one place is ideal.
@simonh6371

Yes but it is possible to have urban EDC gear which would also serve as survival gear. Plenty of examples, a SAK with scissors and a saw, hand sanitiser (which you can use as a firestarter too), superglue, duck tape, lighter and much more.
