Glad he is speaking about the most called out issue in Bangalore.. So happy he mentioned about Senior citizens(I am not but I feel horrible our parents, and the elderly after working so hard all their lives have pollution, no space to move around, no way to live their lives beyond the walls of their homes because we have made a mess of our city, we young ppl have avenues to go out and have fun and we don't think about our elders and their leisure, and that irks me) and their woes with commercial activities in residential areas... Once upon a time This city was a pensioner's paradise... I know we can't go back to that level, but atleast let a residential area be the residence one can come home to.... Most important thing to disallow bars mushrooming just about in every nook and corner in a residential area.... I know am going to get a lot of flak for this, but I have to say it. Bannerghatta Road back in 2004 was beautiful with trees on either side.. And now it is pillaged beyond ugliness. At the end I would request if we can please curb and control buildings popping up everywhere without any planning.... I am really really happy this young leader is speaking about all these points that are not glamorous to talk about. Thank you...

It's difficult. Lot of conflicting interests at the 3 levels of government (BBMP, state, centre). There have been multiple minor attempts made to reform the BBMP (split into different corporations, change legislation etc.) but it's a cash cow that works well for a cash strapped state government. Until state moves towards a more free market role, tough to see any changes in municipal legislation of Bengaluru.

Tejasvi, nice points spoken on the lines of archaic municipal and urban development regulations since British colony, in principal, one should decentralize Bengaluru, apart from political will it's the over burdening of city which has grown unrealistically, with the quality of human resource and talent pool available in Karnataka, other cities need to be seriously developed. Also the Financial bill 2019 proposed retrograded taxes distribution as south bound states and especially Karnataka is bound to lose, apart from the blame, i wish you would have also highlighted how receivables will collected as the current govt. in Delhi proposed ? One needs to look at sustainable solutions, planning, execution than investing heaving on unrealistic infrastructure only to Bengaluru city for next 20 years !! for example, i want to see high school going kids with less that 10 kilometers using a separate bicycle lane? or for that matter office goers too !! With credit financing vacuum, NBFC bail outs, NPAs to create unsustainable infrastructure, lets judiciously invest in cities with sustainable practices, enforcements, disciplining ( all this starts with comprehensive planning), in the name of young population ( spurt explosion), city's tax collection, entrepreneurship ecosystem all from the internal demand side one should not over burden the taxpayers money to be invested in Bengaluru city alone city to pump out the taxes to central government for rationalization to other regions, point is the Financial bill 2019 has flaws. please raise this concern to in the parliament!! Bengaluru losing out on revenues and not the randomly fooled with unsustainable demand. All your judicial and reform oriented points, i agree :)

True. The concept of City should change. The crowd should be de concentrated from City culture. With High speed Internet and connectivity any village can be converted Smart. So each people should concentrate to develop their village and thereby India develop all together. Gandhiji was correct, Villages are the back bone of India
