For anyone wondering, the species he released is the red swamp crayfish, which is native to Texas and a few other southern states but HIGHLY INVASIVE basically everywhere else. Please never release crayfish into a pond unless you know for sure they are a native species.

@@Vythic nope. Crayfish really don't care where they live as long as they have water (and for some species, even water is optional, like the burrowing crayfish) and something organic to eat. There's a reason I always recommend them to people for small aquariums over actual fish.

I've had many ponds, in various forms, one good trick is to lay old carpet down first before the liner. It prevents plants from growing up through liner and makes the bottom a little softer if/when you ever need to walk on it. Most carpet stores have zillions of off-cuts you can get for free, as well. im sure my comment wont be seen, but by the way, ive had massive luck with tetra's pond algae control, even with a really heavy bioload at one point and really infrequent water changes, because i know youve mentioned the problem in the past of micro algae totally murking up ponds. works fast and is safe for plants and fish, so its probably safe for animals to drink but id of course look into that further if i was you. good luck and thank you for the upload!

Love the videos! Tho those aren't redheaded woodpeckers, those are Downies! You can tell bc they have those black dots on their outer tailfeathers, and white dots on their backs. Redheadeds have very blocky colorations, and have completely red heads (no black on the face)!
