So rather than illustrate what you perceive as problems; what about illustrating solutions that you are working on? As an example, when all the wild bees disappeared at my farm spring 2014 (silent spring); I started a solar company that has helped reduce CO2 emissions by hundreds of metric tonnes annually. Trust me, after looking at the situation in depth for several years, one realizes we don't need more "visionaries of apocalypse." We need more hands on deck. Please start a discussion about cleaning up. And if I might beg, not how or who, but you; actually cleaning up.

You make good points. The objective of the video is to point out that we need to develop a cohesive strategy to achieve our social and environmental objectives. Clearly, growth of the commercial market is not the solution to all problems but rather contributes to many of them. People need to speak out and break the cone of silence in the MSM on the negative impacts of growth. Stopping the increase in population and consumption is at least 50% of the problem. The corporate media will never carry this message so it falls upon individuals to deliver it to their elected representatives. So the basic problems need to be recognized but as you say, new directions and positive initiatives need to be offered as well. We will be putting out articles along this line on our website in a couple of months time. A cheap and dirty list for now? Make your next vehicle an EV, walk and bicycle instead of driving as much as you can, install a ground source heat pump for your house and business, eat local food as much as possible, wear more clothes and turn down your thermostat, buy quality products which will last a long time and which can be recycled.

Here's a solution: Encourage everyone to have fewer kids. These days, nobody in any part of the world, of any religious belief or any perceived 'class', needs to have any more than two children and those who opt to have one or none at all should not be pilloried about their choice to do so.

There should be incentives for not breeding!

Canadians already have below 2 children per family on average. The problem is mass immigration.

That is not a solution. Look at China.

If you think it a problem in Canada, look at what uncontrolled immigration has done to America.

The Canadian rate of immigration is about 3x that of the USA.

The issue isn’t even that. It’s capitalism and greed

@@jennycueva5434 Capitalism and the free market encourages thought, creativity, imagination, independence and self-sufficiency. It allows no limits to the success you can have. Socialism stifles the mind, makes one depend upon government and offers no escape from instability. Just ask someone from Cuba, Russia, Sweden or Venezuela. Stop the silly nonsense with greed. If the opportunity arose for you to make a bundle, wouldn't you take it?

@@spideraxis okay but have you thought about what excessive capitalism does to the environment and people’s health? Not everything is black and white
