It looks like these are what the iron rangers wish they were while also being half the price. The iron rangers have (IMO) about the same quality of leather but don't have the leather midsole or shank, so you stand on almost nothing. I am excited for my axeman's to come in this week. I also asked for the gusseted tongue on them and that they be built in an EE width. We'll see how they feel in the next few days!

Hey David! How it been going with this boot's? How you feel different with the tongue and the liner versus the other axman version? What's your preference so far?
@DavidsGarage197212 күн бұрын
Honestly, I think I prefer without the lining. My axemans without the lining even feel hot quite often so I'm glad I don't have that extra lining layer. The gusseted tongue is awesome though, I definitely prefer that over the standard tongue.

How is the thickness of the crazy horse leather? Online it just says premium top grain leather when you click the size. Noticed another spot where I think it states 1.8-2mm thick.
@DavidsGarage197212 күн бұрын
Very similar to the burgandy matte. It definitely felt a little thinner but another person commented that the crazy horse is a little thinner than the burgandy matte and I think Urban wolf confirmed this on a comment on one of their instagram posts.

I live in a hot and humid weather, was thinking of ordering a pair without the liner; do you think it would make a difference?
@DavidsGarage19722 ай бұрын
Yes, I think getting the boot unlined on the quarters, so the shaft of the boot, would help make the boot more breathable. I honestly don't think lining leather adds much to a boot in the shaft except for making it look more finely finished, adds a little more insulation, gives the leather a more stiffer feel.

How does the leather compare to the Axeman Burgundy you reviewed earlier?
@DavidsGarage19722 ай бұрын
Very similar in terms of temper but this bronze leather has a nicer look because burgundy has a very flat finish with no real variation or patina potential. They both feel chrome tanned so i don't expect this bronze to patina much either
@YS-zp9ru2 ай бұрын
@@DavidsGarage1972 thanks. Maybe I should wait for their review after a month of use, but still. What do you think about the thickness of the leather and its degree of stiffness, taking into account that this time it is lined? In the previous review you claimed that it is soft despite its thickness, which leads to a coarse break, and which is not typical of quality leather (with higher density).
@DavidsGarage19722 ай бұрын
I won't be doing an update on these since I already did one on my other axeman boots. This leather feels like the same thickness and temper as the burgandy. If anything this leather may be thinner because it is lined. But I don't think the lining does much to make it feel much stiffer. I would not say either leather is high quality but I expect them to be durable with little break in needed. - This leather almost reminded me of SB foot's copper rough and tough
@YS-zp9ru2 ай бұрын
@@DavidsGarage1972 You are right about the bronze (crazy horse), Fernando confirmed that it is thinner. In fact, with lining it is the thickness of the burgundy. That's why I hoped it would be denser and stiffer.
