One of the most beautiful marching songs I've ever heard in my life.Surely the most famous in the history of world cinematography.(Bridge of the river Kwai).

John Maddin - enought said - the praise should go to Kenneth J Alford for writing the march.

Whenever i hear this old British March music i think of the classic movie 'Bridge Over The River Kwai' which i highly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it, it really is a great movie with brilliant performances from Alec Guinness, William Holden, Jack Hawkins and Sessue Hayakawa as the Japanese Commandant of the Allied POW Camp. The movie won 7 oscars so enough said.

It would probably cost a MINT to make that movie to day. (Uh-uh NO remakes).

Whenever I hear this I think about how the key Nazi leaders were all cowards, and how Hitler in particular lost a testis when it was shot off during the Beer Hall Putsch

The other, is in the Albert Hall……..apparently, just saying….

The other is in the Feldherrnhalle - it was shot off during the Beer Hall Putsch and remains there to this day, even a century later

the counter melody is missing, and it sounds strange to me..

Agree - just found this - it’s a fairly poor orchestral version of this classic. Many of the counter melodies are missing. It’s almost as if the person that did the orchestration forgot to include the baritone and euphonium lyrical countermelodies. As a Euphonium player I was listening for those counter melodies that are so much fun to play and they were absent.
@Ilicet5 ай бұрын
@@drjojo4624 that's funny, because I too am a euphonium player, and maybe that's the only reason why we noticed our part was cut.

No offense, but it sounds better with a military band. I do like this version, but a brass band has a sharper sound.
