I got my piercing almost a month ago. The first two weeks were easy peasy. I lacked two days of cleaning and I got two bumps. On the inside and a keloid looking one on the outside. It was hideous. Started the FULL 7-8 minutes sea salty soaks with no breaks in between AM/PM (usually time myself with bohemian rhapsody playing so I don’t get impatient). I do one nose dip with regular warm water to rinse the salt water. I let it air dry. I used a qtip to apply tea tree oil (am/pm) on the tip of both bumps VERY CAREFUL NOT TO GET THE PIERCING HOLE ITSELF. The bump on the inside completely disappeared within 3-4 days. The top bump is almost completely gone! 😊 All my aftercare routines are from him!

It’s also possible you were allergic to the metal you used. A lot of people are allergic to nickel, which a ton of affordable jewelry uses because it’s strong and durable. The first time I got pierced as a kid both my ears got pretty infected, I tried to stubborn it out but it got so painful and gross I just took them out and left it, figuring earrings just weren’t for me. Fast forward a handful of years ago and my aunt comes home with silver or white gold earrings and shows them off and I tell her I wish I could get some again but had issues and she said she did too because of a nickel allergy but those didn’t have nickel and I decided to try again. Got white gold (my body also likes silver) and was 1000% fine, healed up in a matter of weeks and planning to get quite a few more. Hopefully you found your fit.

I had my nose pierced with screws several times and my piercing always got caught on something and pulled out and tore the tissue. When neometal came out with their threadLess nose rings - I jumped on the opportunity to try again after my nose had properly healed. It’s been 15 months and I have had no problems whatsoever. Now that I am healed, I will wear hoops and screws with no issues. I totally recommend those for an initial piercing.

for everyone saying that salt is better than dial vice versa: salt water has healing properties, it will help the recovery be smooth. I just got my piercing a few hours ago!! I got the nose of course & a helix, they were both my first. The helix did not hurt as much as I thought it would. Since the needle is piercing cartilage, it doesn’t hurt much. I don’t really remember the pain but it was like a pinch & then it was gone. The helix was done very quickly. For my nose, it hurt more than the helix. Since it’s piercing through skin, of course it’s going to hurt. My sister has a septum so she had a similar experience & told me that your eyes WILL water once it pierces through & like she said my eyes did water. My piercer told me to close my eyes & had Green Day playing in the background which totally calmed me down & take my mind off the seconds of pain. He was a really cool dude. It was a nice experience :). I’ll come back in a few weeks or so & update for any people who are curious on the aftercare effects :D

A lot of piercers say different things but I highly recommend listening to him. I got my piercing 3 weeks ago and I have yet to have a keloid and it seems to be healing very well.

got mine today aswell, it hurted more than I expected it to😅 for anyone wondering, for me the pain level was around 5 out of 10 but it was definitely worth the pain :) EDIT: so now it's been 2 weeks since I got it done, that evening and the following morning I had to clean the blood off the piercing every 2-3 hours but since then it stopped bleeding. so far I've cleaned it almost daily with antiseptic spray and I'm suprised by how fast it actually heals, my piercer told me I could change the piercing in 5 weeks in total so now I have to wait 3 more weeks and I might chance it to a hoop! - if anyone has any questions about it, lemme know and I'll gladly answer them :)

i just got mine done 3 days ago and what I’ve been using is the saline solution which is what i used when i got my belly done and it worked pretty well. i just mixed some salt in with some filtered water, put that in a clean spray bottle and i spray it over the piercing when it’s time to clean it and i use q-tips to clean around it gently. it’s too early to tell whether or not it’ll heal nicely but im really hoping it won’t be a pain to deal with 🥺🤞🏼

Double nostril piercing here, 16g. I already had my right nostril it's been years now. This past Mothers day I had my left nostril done, so just over a week now. It doesnt hurt anymore, the outside isn't oozing or red. However the inside is a little crusty around the bar to the labret which is implant grade titanium. I've been using the Neilmed saline mist inside and outside 2x day. The crust is okay, right? I don't dare go poking around at it.

I got my nose and ears pierced today. My earlobes had already been done years ago, so I got a second piercing for them. I thought the nostril piercing would hurt a lot, as I'd read that it's more painful because of the cartilage. I also have a low pain tolerance and hate needles. But shockingly, I hardly felt it, and my eye only teared up the tiniest bit. The piercer had given me a tissue for my eye, but I didn't even need it. Lol The earlobe piercings hurt much more. I was really surprised. My earlobes are small and thick so that could be why. Also, my piercer told me to use a qtip with the saline, and that's what she used on it as well.

Very helpful! Just got mine pierced two days ago for the second time. My first time I got it pierced I had this wart-like growth that kept growing around it and I got tired of it and took the piercing out and let the hole grow up. I told to piercer that did my second piercing and he assumed it was a pimple and told me to use cotton swabs and dial antibacterial soap to keep it clean which just didn't feel right to me. Very glad I found this video!
