That Wilcox incompatibility on the NVG50 is an absolute KILLER. Terrible idea to remove that on the mount

You really do have a superpower now. You don't need gen3 pvs7 unless you're looking for ufos. Also i just dont wanna soend that much on sonething my old sony handicam could do in the late 90s. my Samsung s23fe phone even picks up my $3 temu IR flashlight so I wonder ....

How much IR/non-IR light do these units emit in passive mode without built-in or external IR Illumination? If any, how does this leakage show up on PVS-14's in a low ambient light setting?

Yeah with the wide angle lens you are closer to $570, still well below ADNV. However there's no doubt that ADNV is incredible, they destroyed the opsin in pretty much every way.

Thank you for the feedback😊. I would like to know if you position the monocular in front of a gas mask, if one will still be able to focus the rear diopter so that it can be viewed through a gas mask. Even with the wide angle lens?

The change in batteries is a downgrade.
@ericfalcone7142Ай бұрын
The new batteries have a smaller capacity, yeah, but the nvg50 is so much more efficient they still last longer
@nobodytoyou4887Ай бұрын
@@ericfalcone7142 Pretty sure at 3:00 that gets proven wrong And doing a little math I came up with the following (and some assumptions) NVG50 (Assuming 2x 1100mah 18350's) 293 minutes / 2200mah, 7.508 ma per minute, 450.511 mah draw per hour NVG30 (Assuming 1x 18650 2600mah) 348 minutes / 2600mah, 7.471 ma per minute, 448.275 mah draw per hour, and 2600mah is pretty middle of the road for 18650's 3500mah cells are easily available as well as potentially 4000mah cells. Now if he used smaller 18350 batteries than I have assumed (based on the most common high capacity 18350 you can find) the NVG50 would be better (if it used the 1300mah 18350's then it's way worse), the 2600mah is based on the 18650 that came with the NVG30 I bought from GoodNiteGear. @Urban Survivor what's the capacity on the 18350's you used?
@verynice1192Ай бұрын
@@ericfalcone7142 18650s are the best batteries due to their abundance in the market as well as their capacity. Running two 18350s is just plain silly considering what the manufacturers were after was decreasing the product's overall size 😅 I sure do hope they dont make this mistake when they release their next product p.s. In the video, the nvg50 does not last longer than the nvg30 which is obvious cuz 18650 is just the better option
@e4Bc4Qf3Qf729 күн бұрын
@@verynice1192its not just about volume, its about the exact dimensions and how they happen to fit into the design. The smaller batteries might be a larger volume, but with it being a better shape for the design could save weight/size overall. Perhaps not the perfect design solution but there is certainly a reason they switched to a less common battery.
@malin791928 күн бұрын
The IR beam pattern is also a downgrade. They should have included the focusable IR light. They still don't support standby mode, so the bright screen is always on until you completely shutdown the unit. As a NVG30 user, I am skipping this iteration.
