The fact these videos only get 54k views is beyond me. I just cannot stop listening to these. It’s such a mixed bag of some funny moments, bitter sweet, frustrating, sad and downright nightmarish stories. Very brave for these guys to come on here and share and to also be professional about it. I hope these men truly find peace within themselves. I’m an active duty grunt and these help gain some perspective. Because listening to these…the Marine Corps really hasn’t changed. It really is up to us to make it happen. I was a Marine with MWSS371 re fuelers and knew SGT Padilla, he was with Motor T. Listening to this brings it all back. I was driving one of the tanker trucks that pushed through with team Charlie. There were also allot of rumors as to what happened as well. Some of the stuff he mentions I had never heard. Jumping out of my truck into fighting holes as we started taking fire that night. The Army had just been hit a few day prior to us getting there. My cousin was Air Force and yes we Marines lived in the dirt and not allowed on the Air Force side real quick. former 0311, i have a love hate relationship with my time in. loved the guys i served with but my command was probably one of the most toxic commands in the marines at the time. i wont name it but things happened during about a year and a half period that changed how the entire marine corps treats limited duty, injured marines and marines getting medically seperated....they showed more hate and disdain for guys with injuries (both physically and mental, especially mental though) just straight up shitting on guys with issues and who were trying to get help. we were trained not to even treat captured enemies that badly. our first sergeant recently passed away due to natural causes and every single guy i served with who served under him as our first sergeant, every single one of their reactions was the same "good fuck that guy" ...THATS how you know you were a pos leader is that when you die nobody mourns you they just spit on your grave and say good, im glad, that guy was a piece of shit. as a side note, i know its easy for me to say it now, but i deployed to iraq, al anbar fallujah, i can tell you right now that if someone from my batallion went missing or if someone from my platoon went missing and we were told to stand down i can firmly say thate veryone would say fuck you and go...i know its different because you were in the invasion and i cant imagine how crazy it was but just hearing that your commanding officer said to stand down makes my blood boil. i hope that guy has all the worst things happen to him during whats left of his life

His unit had a pfc who had been wounded 3 times in charge. He refused to evacuate despite the wounds because the privates needed leadership. That man got no medal other than 3 purple hearts. 21:53 that pretty much doomed SGT P rescue. 371 expected to have support from other unites to retrieve the Marine left behind instead a supply CO got caught up with the decision to protect the supplies or coordinate a rescue operation he wasn't equipped or trained to handle.

Contrarian viewpoint, in the terrible reality of a wartime event, especially in a piss-poor-planning wherein the Ground Troops rightfully advised the convoy, basically, we are outnumbered, outgunned, who told you to cross the bridge without aircover or tank support, etc? Yet your convoy attempted to cross the bridge, and met ??? immediate fire and attack by the enemy. Result, one Marine is missing. And the person in charge makes a calculated decision, we are in a disaster situation, we have one Marine missing, our convoy is 250 vehicles, loaded with supplies. Can we limit this catastrophe to one Marine? Horror!

Dude. I listened to this three times. In such a divisive time in our country and all the corruption, I am trying to mentally hold on to my patriotism. I love my country but I don’t feel like we still “have” our country. We’ve been completely taken over. I don’t think people realize that we’ve been cleaned out. We don’t have good people in leadership right now, these people are completely corrupt. I am really concerned that we might not even have the ability to have a fair election at this point and no way to defend our people because they’re throwing people in prison for political beliefs. Our own government is hunting people down and kicking down doors in The United States Of America. I feel like “no man left behind” is not even being held up in our country. Hearing your old school American values and your absolute dedication to your guys is so damn comforting. The idea that these sh*t piles could possibly send our guys to war when our country is almost unrecognizable right now. I can’t think of one democrat who is in power right now that actually represents us everyday Americans. I feel like we have successfully been taken over from the inside and we are all watching but we can’t do anything about it. When Biden made the remark a couple years ago regarding the 2nd amendment and saying basically, “good luck holding the government accountable with your guns when you don’t have F16’s and missiles” shook me and people just let that pass by and kept their heads down. They are literally trying to kill the person running against them. WTF is going on. I am really concerned we’ve lost our country, and that there’s a real possibility that these people will actually send our guys to BS wars and even start using the draft. They didn’t just pass that bill to now include women in the draft for show. I know that sounds crazy or overblown but I’m feeling it. People have this belief that law enforcement and military wouldn’t go against our people may have forgotten the lockdowns. The propaganda machine has so far been successful and for people who believe it hasn’t look who’s currently in power and if everyday Americans actually voted for that? They’ve been able to disregard American voters, gaslight all of us into submission while they’re filling our country with illegal aliens to do their dirty work and further suppress and breakdown average Americans. This is bad. Sorry, I know this is insane, if you’re reading this, someone just tried to assassinate Trump for the second time so I’m a little fired up. Listening to you is comforting because it’s a reminder that we are all still here, we’ve just lost our ability to communicate or to voice our opinions. Ugh. Sorry, this is bad.

Dude. You need to take a breath. Please. I know this isn’t what you want to hear… it based on these remarks it’s clear you are in an echo chamber and a victim of media manipulation. Don’t fall in the trap that’s been laid for you. We are not being taken over from inside. Nobody is coming to take your guns. Immigrants aren’t taking over the country. The election was not and is not being stolen. People aren’t being thrown in jail for political beliefs, they are being thrown in jail for crimes. I know that probably sounds naive and ridiculous to you…but these are all the same boogeyman issues that have been used to terrify people for the last 60 years. The vast majority of people in this country are just like the guy in this video, despite what you see on the internet and TV. Not necessarily in how they look or talk, but in the values and virtues they hold. The difference is now we have a media machine which has perfected the use of algorithms to pick and choose what to show you, and what not to show you - with the sole goal of scaring you and making you mad. Because that causes you to watch and click more. And the more you get worked up, the more it feeds you, and the more it learns about what makes you tick. And the more you then engage and get more upset. It’s a repeating cycle of confirmation bias. Until stories and videos about what makes you mad are all you see. So that’s what you take as truth. You don’t see any other narrative to think it wouldn’t be. There are plenty of honest hardworking Democrats in all levels of government, just like there are Republicans. Most of them are good, but flawed people, just like you and me. The 200 million left-leaning people in this country are not your enemy. Getting you to believe (__) people are an monolithic “other” and “enemy”, and to think “your side” are the ones with the mandate of truth and morality and so are being persecuted in this great struggle…. is the oldest trick in the book. People in power have been doing selling this story as long as there have been people. People are tribal by nature, and when we get scared we default to thinking this way. Reality is much much more gray. You are being weaponized through media manipulation; through deceit, cunning, and technology. With the goal to create doubt, distrust, and anger which overrides your logic and gets you to blindly react in a predictable way aimed at “the enemy(democrats).” A system that cleverly makes you think you are fighting against the system aka enemy, when if fact you’re greasing its gears. I know this comment alone probably won’t change this worldview you’ve constructed and that has been reinforced by what you get shown, but hopefully it at least plants a seed which someday might get you to start questioning yourself more. Ask yourself this…when you google something - how many times do you actually try to PROVE YOURSELF WRONG, vs prove yourself right? How often do you try to find information to prove the point someone you are arguing with is making, rather than info to prove them wrong? How often do you challenge the information that you are being shown? And not just the info you don’t agree with, but the info you do? ESPECIALLY the info you do. How often are you seeking out channels and sources that you consider “liberal”, and do you hold them to the same standard as your normal go-to media? When is the last time you sat down and talked to someone with strong opinions opposite to yours (not over the internet) to try to understand why they think the way they do, and what information they are getting that makes them think that way? Ask yourself why you wrote a page solely ragging against Democrats and their sins, but didn’t think to mention one negative thing about Republicans, even if you don’t think they’re perfect? Is it maybe because all the info you’re getting is coming from one direction? And ask yourself, why might that be? It’s not easy, it takes effort. It goes against our nature, because we all want to be right. We want our “gut feelings” to be true, and that leads to lazy “research” where we look to confirm our preconceived notions, not to find truth. But if you start doing that, I think you’ll be amazed at how quickly the cracks will form in this warped web of reality you’ve woven for yourself.

You can't blame the LtCol for choosing the mission first and not turning back for Sgt. Padilla Ramirez. The foundation of Marine Corps Warfighting is speed and violence. Mattis kept pushing those units North for a reason. Unfortunately the burden of leadership is making cold decisions for the mission. Not blindly running into an ambush based on emotion. Where was this Marines team? How did this Marine get left behind in the first place?
@arod48255 ай бұрын
Blackout rolling convoy at night time, with some vehicles with no nvgs, marines had to put chem lights on the front and back of their vehicles to keep from hitting each other. Marines behind Sgt Padillas vehicle(7ton) didn’t see it veer off the road. Padillas gunner was ejected from the vehicle and then shot in the leg, and his A driver got out and didn’t say anything. Vehicles passed By and no one thought to clear it.

I know it was a tough call but we have a motto and they should have held to it. No matter how many lose their lives in the mission they still have to do it. F Hollywood. That CO was wrong he will live with it worse than anyone of the troops under him who suffer from that memory. I was in the 4th MEB in the first war. The Iraq invasion whole war was mismanaged. Rumsfeld F it up sent only 180,000 troops. I remember the years before the 2nd war in Iraq was kicked off in Iraq an army 4 star general in front of congress asked how many troops to take Iraq he replied 480.000. Rumsfeld sent less than half that number and so never secured the cities and borders etc.... It took a troop surge years later to stabilize the war. We had double the troops in the first Iraq War and we didn't even invade Iraq we just kicked them out of Kuwait and circled into lower Iraq for a little while. They totally f up that war like Vietnam war with politicians and politically correct figures making the calls. DOnt be dishonored by what happened my brother you can hold your head up its that co who has to live with it not you. Wait until we get into a real all out war where our people are being killed in bombings etc... and all this politically correct way to fight a war goes out the window. In ww 2 USA would just execute germans or japs when they surrendered because war changes people into a different type of person and the libs dont understand what it does to people when there fighting for their lives.

A video I recently saw comes to mind. It was about a WWII and wars thereafter practice called fragging where subordinates would take out a superior who acted contrary to the best interest of those under him and caused preventable death of some of those under him or endangered them through bad leadership.
