Jasmine Shah from the National Pharmacy Association advises keeping enough medication for the entire trip, including potential delays. Start Rescue’s Lee Puffett recommends storing medication in a safe, accessible place in the vehicle and taking a copy of your prescription, especially for longer journeys. This precaution can prevent serious health issues and reduce the added stress of a breakdown.

Temperature control for most/all medication is IMPORTANT. And some spoil quickly when stored above 18deg.

Yes that’s true, but there are containers that can be used to carry them which are cooled with ice packs.

Great advice. I carry this a few steps further: I permanently carry an entire overnight kit in the car, including pyjamas, shaving kit etc, you name it. Plus an entire change of clothes and different layers for all weathers. I'm ready and prepared to check into a motel at a moment's notice. I can also change clothes, shoes etc immediately. Plus i have rations of food and water. And spare bulbs for every light function on the car.
