Was 13 the first time I heard "Easy Livin" been a Heep fan every since. Am 65 their music is still fanf%^&*ingtastic! It was like yesterday when Gary Thain passed; now in 2024 Mick is the sole survivor of the original members. Thank goodness they left us so much good music!

Bassist Gary Thain was one of the most underated prog rock bass players of all time. You can really here how brilliant a player he was in this song. He knew how to ride the pocket and when to throw in perfectly timed licks and scale runs. He was hands down the best bassist UH ever had and rivaled other prog bassists of his day. He tragically died WAY too young at 27 of a heroin overdose, the same age so many other rock stars have died.

I love Mick Box's guitar sound on this album. Especially the opening solo beginning. I wonder if he tuned the lower bass guitar strings to a power chord during the mid solo? I'm not too crazy about the last 3rd of this song but hey, it works.
