They genuinely had decent mics and compression on some of the old cameras. I remember for a media studies project, using my mom's old early 2000s cam-corder which records onto small DVD disks, and it was a pain to work with, but whilst I did, I was amazed at the quality of the audio, the river rushing, the birds chirping in the forest, I couldn't have gotten audio that good from my smartphone. What's more crazy is that this video was probably originally interlaced (so, actually 60fps), but internet streaming sites don't support this, so you'll never get to see it at it's best.

@@anatoliykorchak9508no. you don't get it. and you don't get better by playing your skin off. nor do you get better by playing more. most people who practice all day never get this good. you don't understand the level. They didn't train up to this speed. They are so familiar with the strings that they go faster at a pace that feels fun for them. Zero rhythm mistakes. It is EASIER for them to play FAST. And that contra bass player has better rhythm than most elite jazz bands from the 20th century had on a good day. He leads them on slow down wave patterns amid a gradual speed up to be part of a bigger wave of increase and decrease. Fractal rhythm... off the cuff without sounding mechanical. That is better than ANY other Russian performance recorded in history of man kind - and Russians love the slowdown/speed up technique - no one else does it fractally like that. This is not just professionals. This is a masterclass in rhythm and playing together.
