The urinary system is the body's drainage system for removing wastes and extra water. It includes two kidneys, two ureters, a bladder, and a urethra. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the second most common type of infection in the body.
You may have a UTI if you notice:
Pain or burning when you urinate
Fever, tiredness, or shakiness
An urge to urinate often
Pressure in your lower belly
Urine that smells bad or looks cloudy or reddish
Pain in your back or side below the ribs
People of any age or sex can get UTIs. But about four times as many women get UTIs as men. You're also at higher risk if you have diabetes, need a tube to drain your bladder, or have a spinal cord injury.
If you think you have a UTI it is important to see your doctor. Your doctor can tell if you have a UTI with a urine test. Treatment is with antibiotics.

My Dad gets UTI’s a lot. He’s 89, waiting for test results. I had to feed Dad his lunch yesterday he was weak. Told Nurse at his LTC he has to be fed, I can’t come in 3 times a day. Lazy CNA’s, they told me he was up wandering the halls at 11-7 shift. So why aren’t nurse’s putting him in the hospital?? Can never get ahold of his Dr. Medical field is failing us all! I’ll continue to be there for my Dad!!

I have had chronic UTI’s for almost 15 years. I have been to several doctors numerous times. They prescribe antibiotics that don’t work. From what I have found on my own, my UTI’s are due to an over abundance of sugars, drinking less than a gallon of water a day, stress, improper Ph, smoking cigarettes, too much sex, not showering often enough, wearing shorts two days in a row. Not usually any one thing, but a combination of several. I find that huge amounts of D-mannose, derived from cranberries, works muuuuuch better than antibiotics, and is a lot cheaper.

I’m a male, I’ve had over 40 UTI’s in past 13 years. Had 3 cystoscopies, with no results. 2 CT scans 1 MRI, 5 ultrasounds, seen an infectious disease expert, endocrinologist, 4 urologists, renal physician and about 9 different G.P’s. When the Norfloxacin, Amoxcilin, Cephalexin, Trimethroprim don’t work I usually end up in the emergency department getting intravenous cocktails whilst feeling like I’m about to die. The cause? - no idea. Been tested for everything you can imagine, many times even the urinalysis doesn’t show anything. But antibiotics always seem to work when they find the right one. It’s very depressing. Never tried dmanose(?) not sure you can get it in Australia. I saw an alternative doctor who put me on fish oil and zinc tablets for 6 months which didn’t change the situation. It’s ruined my life and bank account.

Just here for some info to other people.. I had a severe pain during urination , i had very severe UTI, some days i tried to treat with some medicines but it didn't worked at all. Then i checked myself to the doctor and she checked me and said nothing to worry just triple and triple your water intake and drink water after every half an hour and i started drinking water more and more, And it did wonders within three days, my pain was gone and i was ferling much better.. So better to give our body the amount of water it really needs in a day it will help to avoid these type of dieases

I had one when I was 12 and another when I was 13. (Not sexually active at the time.) It was the worst pain I've ever felt. Thank goodness that it is easily treatable!

I visit my OB yesterday since I have IUD. I thought my IUD was shifted. Apparently it's still in good shape. However, UTI instead. I learned never hold urine even if I hate using the bathrooms at work because the bathrooms are gross.

My UTIs don’t present this way at all, when I get them I can’t pee at all or can only pee a little bit at a time but it’s never painful or anything like that

My mom have uti for 7 years it won’t go away. No antibiotics won’t help her no more. Now when she have a bad or severe she starts screaming and shouting calling her mom she passed away 20 years ago we don’t know what else to do

Sorry for the late reply but just incase if you still have worries, No not at all, it’s just an infection in your vaginal area you can get it treated with antibiotics!!! Also cranberry juice and water helps too!!! So all is fine you are not pregnant 😅

The latest stupid drama begun yesterday morning by draining my good car battery in my garage and I had to shell $300 for a new battery. Then I got followed by helicopter from my hose to Vegas. The helicopter kept on flying over my car and was trying to get my attention.
