@John Benjamin Tatum That is originally the mantra of the Blacksmith "If you need a tool, make a tool." It's why a Blacksmith isn't truly a Master if they don't cross-dicipline enough to at least make the handles for his tools and products like knives and hammers. Nowadays it is the mantra of the Maker. Any Maker.

As a maker myself I can recognise when I wouldn't stand a chance of making something that's way beyond my skill set but in the same sense I can also recognise when someone does have the skill set, you Sir should be making a orrery, you have the fine metalwork skills and engraving skills. A fine handmade orrery would fetch £1000's and make a fantastic set of youtube videos
