Which plants are you using? I have put two Aloe Vera plants into mine 2 months ago and they aren't doing very well because of the extreme heat. Trying to find names of plants that could handle such high heat.

I think Bonsai need oxygen to survive so don't know if there is a type that can live underwater. I'm really not sure.

In general substrate isn’t the best if ingested. That being said the substrate itself would be hard to ingest as it dries pretty solid and isn’t loose like what you would see from other substrates. I’m also confident that my Uro is in healthy condition. That if a bit of substrate were ingested he would pass it with regular stool Short answer no your Uro shouldn’t eat the substrate.
