9:09 You'd need to buy the tile with a forest on the 3rd ring for the Panama canal to connect the way you want it to.

I was screaming at my monitor the same thing. Such a tragedy but it worked out in the end.
@chrisblake41984 ай бұрын
Are you sure? Ursa never settled on that tile long enough to see the tooltip but I suspect it is a continuation of the cliff even though it doesn't look it.

Also could have just placed a district to block it from going left - random neighborhood or something. Don’t even have to finish it right away.

i think the lesson i learned is that panama never makes any sense

The funniest thing you can do with a canal is when you own a tile next to another civ's city center, you can build canals that connect to THEIR city center 😂

My favorite part was when Ursa said "It's Polderin' time!" and polder-d all over the map

Towards the end of the video, I couldn't help but chuckle a bit when you were placing the pins down in and around the existing Aztec cities and making possible plans to raze one of them to the ground. I pictured the Aztec authorities watching you with interest and wondering why you were making plans to invade their city right under their noses with words to the effect of 'Ah, Ursa, can we help you?', and you saying, 'It's fine! I'm just making plans to polder this city into the ground, it's all good! Oh wait, have I said too much?'. To me it's the equivalent of randomly walking into someone's house and measuring the rooms to see if it fits all your possessions and the occupiers saying, 'Ah, can I help you?' 😆😆

By the end of this the Dutch are going to have a booming tourist cruiseliner route from the homelands to almost anywhere in the world.
I really tried to keep canal in mind when I canaled

Nothing about thalassocracy suggests it is restricted to just seas and not lakes.

For your daily Civ 6 drawing, you could do a reference to Donkey from Shrek - "That's a nice boulder," instead using 'polder'

23:03 Poland is one of the most denounced and warred on civ by the ai because she is aggressive, is religious (so annoys other ai when she converts them) and she also culture bombs with encampments which ai loves spamming like no tomorrow. Oh and encampments also convert nearby cities. Recipe for poor relations all over the place

Aircraft Carriers counting as naval warfare would definitely be against the spirit of the "can only war against cities that can be attacked by navies" idea, but until Ursa dismissed it, I was definitely wondering whether he would use it to just conquer everything
@UrsaRyan3 ай бұрын
perhaps I might have used them but absolutely not for deciding on the range of attack!

17:45 you should read of the Capture of the Dutch Fleet at Den Helder (French Cavalry walked out onto the ice and obliged the fleet frozen in the harbor to surrender), one of (to my knowledge) two known direct clashes between cavalry and navy!
