Hello Ms Ula🤗 Thanks for giving these educational videos! I have been really wanting to pursue interior designing after I finish my degree program, Bachelor of Elementary Education. And while I still am learning about what I also love, your videos inspire me more and gives me a glimpse of the interior designing industry which I have explored when I was a BS Architecture student for one semester. Hoping to learn more from you🤗 God bless!💛

I'm studying interior design i am in my fourth year and i still suck at sketching. I can copy a sketch but i don't know how to do one on my own, i haven't developed that skill yet. And thanks to autocad and revit, us students don't really focus on hand sketching but our teachers always tell us how important it is. I really want to work on this and become good at channeling ideas into a hand sketch because a lot of times, computer programs don't really do it right. Thank you for the great video, you've become an inspiration to me, now i wanna become a pro at hand sketches and be a special interior designer 💗💗💗

I’m a student in high school, I’m 17 years old and have a passion for interior design. I have decided at the age of 14 that’s what I wanted to do. However, now that I know I’ll need to make sketches to make it to the top…I don’t know if I can’t do it. I’m not a good drawler that’s the problem. I also didn’t know I would have to make rooms (actually bulding them) but I like a challenge and I like bulding anyways. I rather decorate though. Rain I think two years would be enough to improve your sketching skills. I have 2 years left until I graduate from highschool, and I'll probably use that time to practice
@UlaBurgiel14 жыл бұрын
Hi Rain, don't worry too much. Anyone can start learning drawing at any age and it's never too late. 2 years is a lot of time. Start practising with drawing simple objects from your kitchen. This is how I started. Put some cups and bowls on the table and draw it over and over again. Try to get the proportions right. Then walk away from your drawing (2-3m away), look at it from a distance and check if you've drawn it right. Keep practising drawing simple objects and you'll get better.
@UlaBurgiel14 жыл бұрын
Hi Saihati, you are absolutely right, use the time to practise. When I was your age, my teacher told me to start with simple objects from your kitchen: cups, bowls etc. Then you can move on to more complicated elements. Surprisingly the biggest challenge for me before going to uni was drawing a.... chair ;)

Hi Jessica, that’s a great way to get into interior design: as an artist you already know more about the colour / composition which is so important while designing (this reminds me of my story - drawing/painting first, interior design next). Instead of seeing furniture/curtains in a room you see different colour surfaces that need to be balanced. It’s a beautiful way of introducing art into everyday life. Good luck with exploring interior design and architecture. I’m glad you found the video helpful. There’ll be some new videos soon so stay tuned ;)

I think the statement that you are only a good interior designer that truly makes unique work if you can sketch well is very problematic to be quite honest. Sketching like model making like 3d modeling etc is just part of the visual process. A lot more goes into good design. A person can be a fantastic creative person even without sketching abilities. Truly good sketching skills are beneficial during the creative process or when meeting with a client. But honestly digital tools surpass manual tools specifically today specifically as a productivity tool.

Hi Agnieshka, My example of the 2 point perspective is correct. Could you elaborate some more on why you say it’s incorrect?
@agniecha072 жыл бұрын
@@UlaBurgiel1 its simple - the lines from oposite points they meet in the center and define the central part of object. This part is the highest. Here it's oposite - central point is the lowest exactly like for one point perspective. it also has been shown at the examples from professional websites.
@UlaBurgiel12 жыл бұрын
@@agniecha07 The names 1 point perspective and 2 point perspective refer merely to the method of drawing used, not to the object drawn - which it appears you are referring to.

@@UlaBurgiel1 then it wouldnt have any sense to distinguish between those two. The way how the lines are being led, define further the object and that's the whole sense. Anyway it's a useless arguing because geometry is a part of maths and now it looks like I should prove why 2 plus 2 equals 4.
