URUS vs RS Q8: Should you buy the Lamborghini or the Audi?

Both cars share the same platform and almost identical engines, but which would you choose given the choice between a Lamborghini Urus or an Audi RS Q8?
Our Co-Founder, Andrew North, takes the two closely related power crazy SUV's out for a drive to compare both cars and to see which one he thinks is best and which one he thinks you should buy.
Having been a Lamborghini Urus owner for a few months, could our Audi RS Q8 Carbon Black Edition prove to be a worthy alternative to the 'Super SUV' and tempt him away from the raging bull?

RSQ8 with a few grand spent on tuning will out perform the Urus and save you 200k, they are basically the same car

VW, owner of Lamborghini. Porsche, Audi and others, simply used a cost cutting strategy, by using the Lamborghini name and exhaust sound, to sell, or to fool, the buyers who thought it is a Lamborghini because, VW says it is a Lamborghini? But if it does not have a Lamborghini engine, then is not a Lamborghini AND AT THE SAME TIME VW ASKS A LAMBORGHINI PRICE WHEN BUYERS CAN BUY THE AUDI VERSION A LOT CHEAPER . .

The biggest problem with the Urus for me is that it doesn't differentiate itself enough compared with the RSQ8 or Cayenne Turbo S; same chassis,engine, tech..etc - something you'd expect for a vehicle that often costs in excess of £200k The other big let down was that Lamborghini never gave it one of the bigger engines such as the V10 or V12 both of which would more than justify its (much) higher price tag. Add that the Ferrari Purosangue launches soon and it will be using a Ferrari chassis and Ferrari engine and it won't just be a rebody of a much cheaper vehicle.

PURSANGUE starting at $400k, fully loaded uris is $300 lol. Consider if Lambo put $100k into their URUS the of engine will turn the beast into an airplane.

The urus has a chassis which is slightly modified so not 100% audi chassis

The main problem for me with the RSQ8 is that the base Q8 is 99% the same beside the power and costs the half… where as lambo doesn’t have a „base“ model…

Basically, Lamborghini just tuned their own Q8 and slapped their badge on it. If someone experienced with tuning were to tune their Q8, it would be faster and cheaper than most Urus

Nah dude, if the Urus had the same V10 as the Huracan I would go for it. As it is, I would prefer the Audi for daily driver, and I would add the Huracan to my collection for pleasure. I dont pay for other peoples validation, I pay for quality of product. In this case the Audi seams to offer a better SUV for your money.

Good review. @3:33 The 4ws only has the effect of ‘shortening the wheelbase’ , for agility, below 37mph. Above that speed it has the effect of ‘lengthening the wheelbase, for improved directional stability.

RSQ8 > Urus. You mentioned that you can only get that extra performance in the Urus but there is a $200,000 price difference between the two. With the right modifications you can make the Audi an absolute monster than it already is in stock form. Plus I prefer the looks of the RSQ8 over the Urus. 50 more horsepower and a Lamborghini badge is not worth that price difference, not at all.

I gave my wife the option of any SUV she wanted including the lamborghini. She chose the RSQ8 over the lambo because she does not like how flashy the lamborghini is. We actually did take it to jotech performance in Dallas and they tuned it to be over 700 horsepower. And it will indeed smoke the lamborghini. And we only saved $100K over the Uris. And we do have the optional huge ceramic brakes on our RSQ8 as well as they are an option
