Are there any alternative clay powders to use in the place of Tonoko? I noticed that you can buy diatomaceous clay fairly easily but I’m wondering if there’s a special type of clay you have to use for tonoko

Hi Ian. Thanks for your comment meow~ Sorry I haven't tried the other clay powders. Since tonoko consists mainly of aluminium silicate, my educated guess of an alternative may be Kaolinite. It should be easily available anywhere. However, you need to be aware of the grain size. Let me know the result if you have tried it.🐱Fun fact: diatomaceous earth can be used against cat flea

Hi there, how do you sort out the leftover urushi? Do you throw them away or is there a way to preserve it for next use? Urushi can be quite costly come to think of it.

MFTC, do you have experience coating plastic? I want to try this with some plastic goods I have that I want to be durable, but already have a very finely textured surface. It seem like a good surface without primer, but you are the Sensei here :)
