Thank you so much for the informative video. It can be difficult to learn Tame Nuri as a native English speaker, since there are not many authoritative sources which explain the process in English. I have been learning the process over the last six months, but from a source that according to you video is one of the types oft (time consuming) imitations. I was wondering, apart from your forthcoming video (which I'm looking forward to), whether you can recommend any other sources that explain the specific processes of traditional urushi techniques (Tame Nuri and others) which are accessible to English speakers?

Welcome back, always a good day when you upload. On account of not knowing better and not being particularly skilled I can say I fall into the many layers and sanding camp😅 so this video is most eye opening. I find red and the clear kijiro layers seem to be a dust magnet more so than any other layers, any tips (beyond using the corner of the brush to remove the dust) to help reduce this or is that just something to get used to? Looking forward to the tutorial

I have the same issue! You have to be careful because when you wipe the pen surface you actually charge it with static electricity which quite literally, attracts dust. I find that the best way around this is to wipe the surface with a wipe soaked with urushi or isopropyl alcohol. Some craftsman will even lacquer without clothes to avoid this happening at all!

I struggle with dust too! Fushimiurushikobo (another KZbin channel) uses a fushiage-boh to remove dust. I haven’t made/bought one yet but it looks useful. He shows how to make one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qInHppSKrdl_odE
