I'm considering Eureka. Would it be a good place to live?
@McScootyKins3 ай бұрын
@RGE_Music Not really. Housing is bad, healthcare is bad, we're hours away from any major city and we have earthquakes sometimes, with the occasional big shaker. The weather's not too bad though (it's raining right now), and there are a lot of things to do outdoors, in and around Eureka.

I live in this area (I was born in Eureka in 1967). You passed by the exit (701) where my apartment complex is at around 7:53 in this video. I have always loved this area for its sheer beauty. Sadly, not all of the people are as nice as they used to be, but there are still plenty of wonderful people around here, and plenty of great places to visit.

An apartment complex on the hill? That up past the Mexican place and the Grange?
@Joe_Okey3 ай бұрын
@@Ging-Freecs King Salmon exit is 700 and I could use it or 701 if coming back from the south (i.e Fortuna or Ferdale). I use exit 701, because I usually go to Eureka for shopping and Dr. Appt.

I live in southern coastal Oregon and used to drive this route all the way to the Napa Valley to visit my relatives 2 or 3 times a year for many years!! My favorite stretch of road is between The Avenue of the Giants all the way up to Crescent City. What a lovely drive. It took over 8 hours from my place to my Mom's. I sure miss doing this since everyone has moved away, there's no reason to anymore.

It's all part of the unique Pacific Northwest (western Oregon here) The forests, rivers and mountains are magnificent, the coast is unspoiled, majority of the towns and cities aren’t ugly and sprawling and the people are generous and down-to-earth.
