Wonderful drive, Mike. I have been to Tarpon Springs a loooooong time ago. When I was a teenager, so it has been ages. Nice to see the area is getting very busy now. I like the US 19 freeway-like highway going through there. I am sure that is very new.

US 19 is a true definition of suburban hell.

Most of Pinellas County as a whole from what I'm seeing. Probably one of the most extensive developments of single-family homes in the country.

@@MileageMikeTravels Yep, the suburbanization sprawls as far north as Citrus County and extends south into SWFL.

Hopefully you'll catch the different light themes at night on the sunshine Skyway Bridge. The Veterans/ Suncoast Parkway. And revisit when the Gateway and Howard Frankland Bridge is done.

yea well most of the county doesn’t have a highway other than the small portion of 275. so to remedy that they made a huge chunk of us-19 controlled access. (from SR-580 in Clearwater to just past 49th St N in Pinellas Park. It was built to make for easier travel through the county and they are even beginning to build a controlled access portion for even further north than 580 up to Curlew Rd. Which is the construction u see toward the end of the video.

@@smokeyyvevoreally bad freeway access there, which is probably why US 19 is so dangerous. US 19 really needs to be a fully limited access freeway as far north as Inglis. FL 589 exists but it is still really far out of the way the further south you get.

Another highway I want to drive. Mainly the limited access part. But I never been to Pinellas County. Only been to Tampa once to go to Busch Gardens. Maybe one day I get to roadgeek over there. -Lifelong Cocoa, FL resident

@@SA-hz1rsFlorida economy is mainly funded by tourist. They have some of the best beaches, Orlando is full of amusement parks, there are occasional theme parks and zoos elsewhere in the state. People also find it a nice place to live for the price; it’s very tax free.
