That Mt.Shasta has an almost "Mount Fuji" style to it. Alone and symmetrical.

+Trans Canada Phil I agree with you! Before the 1980 eruption however, Mt. St. Helens was known as the "Mt. Fuji" of America.

+InterstateJD Thank you JD, Mt. Shasta is awesome to see no matter which side you view it on, US-97 is probably the best since there are no other mountains or trees blocking you. Hope you get to this area someday!

great video there,i wonder if that highway is used as a alternate truck route to i-5.
@InterstateKyle9 жыл бұрын
+James Wormsley Trucks use it to deliver goods to Central Oregon cities like Klamath Falls and Bend, to name a few. This road is actually prone to more hazardous weather than I-5, mostly due to its average higher elevations. And thanks buds

There is all this talk of the mega-drought in California but things look pretty green over there! Has the area been spared of the worst effects of the multi-year drought?
@InterstateKyle9 жыл бұрын
+Andre Lot You can look at the US drought monitor at this link to see how this area is affected. It's only in the orange so it's not the worst category possible but still fairly bad, there should be a lot more snow on Mt. Shasta for this time of year too. droughtmonitor.unl.edu/

Cool video, the mountain has had less snow on it because of the drought, but the el nino this winter should result in more snow and some relief from the drought, which would be good for the water supply and crops out there as well

Nice work, man! Always enjoy your videos. Great choice of vehicle for long trips too. Is yours modded at all, or is it completely stock? I've got a 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty extended cab longbed with the bulletproof 7.3 liter Powerstroke diesel. It's got a modified factory airbox, 4" Magnaflow exhaust, and tasteful aftermarket 20" wheels. Future mods include a pyrometer, boost gauge, Banks intercooler, and a 50-gallon fuel tank to replace the 35 gallon stocker. It's earned its keep many times, dragging home derelict classic cars and rescuing stranded friends from all over the southern half of California!

May I ask when you visited Mount Shasta? It seemed to have pretty little snow on the mountain top. I planned to visit it this September and am so much worried that my late summer visit will get me to see Mount Shasta with very little snow :(
@InterstateKyle8 жыл бұрын
Late July 2015. September is usually the month when the mountain has little snowpack before the season starts over on Oct 1st.
@Kimmath18 жыл бұрын
I was there yesterday driving back from Klamath Falls! Sadly, the fog (or smog) was so thick it hid almost the whole Shasta inside itself. I saw nothing from the agricultural inspection point and saw only the base of Shasta when being nearby. However, I was lucky enough that a day before I got a beautiful sunrise shot of Mount Shasta. Still I hope one day I get to be back there and see the actual scenery your video presents :)

The first time I seen Mount Shasta was in 1997 traveling up the I-5 headed to Corning California and as we're proceeding up the interstate there a big big mountain to my right and I got what's that that mountain goes all the way into the sky a family member says that's a volcano I go a Vault who again family member says that's a volcano I said no way we just left Sacramento and we have a volcano close to us I was ready to move but then on the other side of California and you have your send me to you National Park also Under the Volcano so we're like in between Mount Saint Helens of top is it a three volcanoes I don't want to see Ever erupted

Even the most remote and sparse areas of California have an intrigue to them. Where I live in NC the remote areas are mostly flat and run down with nasty red clay dirt. Even the mountains are nothing compared to California
