The SCP universe is one where cognitohazards exist. They can be something as simple as a string of weird words that melt your brain the instant your eyes see them. But they can also be a lot more hidden, and the thing about initial retrieval duty is that it is these guys' jobs to *purposefully* find and identify all the potential hazards before they even consider bringing the anomalous object back to the lab that has all the irreplaceable PhD's. aka being an MTF on initial retrieval duty fuckin sucks, because if anyone is gonna be the first group to find the thing that melts your brain, it's gonna be them.

@@CombatVeteranReacts It's definitely not thankless, The Foundation treats their MTF's *extremely* well whenever possible. But it is a *necessary* job, unfortunately. An MTF losing their life to a brain-virus is a lot more workable casualty than an entire lab full of anomalous-specializing-scientists being subjected to that same hazard without knowing it exists.

@@CombatVeteranReacts Nah, that would be the D-Class personell. MTF's are highly respected in that universe, atleast by the Foundation (Guys trying to SCP -> Secure, Contain, Protect = Boss of the MTF in the Video ~ Helios). The D-Class are former deathrow inmates that the foundation uses to assess how deadly something actually is. Example: A PhD wants to know if an anomaly kills you if you poke it with a stick. He would call for a D-Class, hand them a stick and you can imagine the rest of the story. If a D-Class however survives a certain time working for the foundation they are granted amnestics/amnesiacs (Medication that wipes your memory for a certain amount of time, depends on dose and class of amnestics) and set back free into the real world.

Fun fact: the SCP military doesn’t actually associate themselves to one country rather they’re more like nato where they have forces from around the world work as one group altogether. Which is why you notice that there are members from different countries. Plus they aren’t officially from a branch which would actually mark them as PMCs so if their tactics are different from your respective countries, that’s why. So some of their inaccuracies could be from the mixture of different tactics from different countries tactics and strategies

A little note to add on to the "Bogey" callout. True this callout is primarily utilized by intercept pilots in the airforce, but the term "bogey" is universally used to call out an "unknown element" when hostilities are observed, it will be re-designated as a "Bandit" but this term is pretty much only used in air to air engagements; but ground pounders will re-designate enemy combatants as "hostiles" and or "Tangos". But in THIS particular case, the term bogey is still appropriate due to the fact that the person is still technically unidentified until revealed.

19:30 You would actually never handle that type of potential anomaly that way because it could have cognitohazardous effects. (Something that causes harm by being perceived through one of the five senses) Normally when you find something like that, you would've to report it and then verify it with a colleague and take pictures when you can. But your top priority would be to have as few people exposed to it as possible.

Now, the moment they saw those symbols, that's where I'd say is the greatest problem of this film. It's not a big one, but still. These symbols could be cognitohazzards, anomalies that if percieved by human senses, can be extremely dangerous not just for the viewer. They mentioned earlier they are joined on this op by Mole Rats. That would mean MTF Zeta-9. Large portion of them are D-Class, or they would surely have some D-class personell on standby. What he should have done was call in one of the D-class guys and have him hold the camera. If this D-class sees these symbols and is unharmed, it can be assumed that these are not cognitohazzards. Sure, there were instances when cognitohazzards activated after some period of time, but it is rare. For anyone who doesn't know. D-class means disposable people. They are criminals sentenced to death and are used by SCP Foundation to test and/or contain anomalies. To Foundation, they are nothing more than a disposable resource.

What i really like about the SCP universe/setting is that it has an established enough framework that it's consistent, however it's still vague and loose enough that people can write their own fiction taking place in that setting without checking *_every_* single piece of fiction written before them. And SCP MTFs are also interesting in the same way, because they're not really an established military force in the conventional sense, as it means that SCP fiction can sometimes use terminology from various branches of various military forces from around the globe. AND it makes the willing suspense of disbelief is easier as well, as these guys only really work with paranormal/supernatural situations it means that *_sometimes_* (with emphasis on 'sometimes') conventional tactics and procedures obviously go out the window.

one thing that they messed up and called themselves on in the "Making of" video is right at the beginning when they first enter and are clearing rooms is that they didn't clear the last room on the left from the camera (Right for the shooters). I would love to see you react to scp MTFs explained, or you yourself looking at the wiki and just analyzing some of the MTFs and how effective you think they are, the scp universe differs from Warhammer in the fact that it maintains a realism and strategy. Something that should be noted in my opinion many MTFs suffer from over specification, being specifically designed around one singular anomly or place, and makes them useless in any other situation. To be fair this is nescary with some anomlies as they very drastically.

Probably the least likely part about this SCP operation is The fact the guy found a possible Cognito hazard and just went hey pal come over here and look at this. For all he knew his heart could’ve stopped 10 minutes later or, slowly go insane, or make him just kill himself for seemingly no reason like one does near the end of this film, or any other number of things. Cognito hazards are a bitch when it comes to SCPs
@AHSValor
@AHSValor 2 жыл бұрын
That's what the MTF is for. When you're the first team in, every second you're alive and healthy would be counted as a damn miracle. The hole could've contained a cogitohazard. The water could've been a cognitohazard. The trees in the forest could've been a cognitohazard. The house itself could've been a cognitohazard. The person they shot could've been a cognitohazard. The only intel they had regarding the anomaly was that there were floating people and potential occult ties. Everything they encounter beyond that is a new development, and it's better to find out any further anomalies at the already quartered-off site rather than have unforeseen anomalies occur in transit and be forced to quarter off a whole new area.

@@heavyhitter3927 To take every possible measure to prevent cognitohazard exposure would mean more time not getting to the bottom of the source of the present anomalous activity, and the potential compromise of the team as it is. @@heavyhitter3927 Pretty much. Getting to the bottom of the anomalous activity, and figuring out how to contain it, is the number one priority in the opening stages of dealing with an SCP. All personnel and belligerents lost, or otherwise utilized, in the process of finding, securing, containing, and scrubbing the knowledge of the anomaly from public record, is deemed absolutely necessary to keep the world from turning to absolute chaos. Technically, anyone who is a part of the SCP Foundation has to be ready to kill and die in the name of defending humanity. He could fit into the issued duffel bags and be carried around by his buddies, and did occasionally as a joke. He was having an extremely difficult time getting through the last part of the training which is a large hike with all your gear on, your rucksack, and your rifle. He was basically having to try to carry his own bodyweight+ on that hike because everything standard issue is... well, it's meant for 6ft tall men. I watched so much of the US Army Marines / Veterans but this one got stuck with me. And to add on, at around 6:21 when they were moving closer to Kingpin, they did not check the rooms, hell, some dude may have been there ready to fire a few bullets into the squad.

Late comment but I'm pretty sure they didn't have enough time to film that part

I'm not sure that is fog in his mask, I think it's a reflection from the window.

SAVAGE Actual did a reaction to this and absolutely ripped this movie to *shreds*. They saw so many errors in this movie as former SF guys; for example, they'd have just torn the wall down to get into the basement.

Thing you have to remember is that this is SCP and literally ANYTHING around the could be anomalous, including the house itself and tearing into it could kill you, or drive you insane. Yes there are SPCs like that and the MTF know that. Tactics are understandably going to change when you know that you are going against the unknown. It's not so much bad guys with guns that the MTF worry about, it's a tree that can cut your head off or a smell that can melt your brain.

I've had a few personal paranormal experiences in friends houses and haunted locations that I've though I could shoot my way out. Maybe its the combat arms/veteran part of me lol I know it wouldn't work and Id just be wasting ammo but I think its just the security/ training thing we all know and love
