My 4 deployments in 8 years of active duty are memories I’ll never forget. Some fun, some scare you, some are adrenaline dumps, and finally some are sad especially when close friends are seriously wounded or killed. It was a better education in life lessons learned then you could ever learn at a college. Each deployment was at least 7 months with at least a 6 month work up/training cycle prior to deployment. After 8 years of training to deploy or being deployed my wife had had enough, and my body wasn’t 21 anymore.

3 weeks into deployment w 1-187 3BCT 101ST 2016/2017 in Afg, Svest detonated inside bagram, we cleaned up what was left and hunted the collaborators, did nothing for months as we acted as QRF, then fought the taliban, one of the first conventional forces to fight ISIS attached to different ODA teams, along with afghan commandos and NMRG (Afghan counter IED) in the middle of no where being resupplied by C130 almost every night, saw the MOAB, took contact daily then took 4 casualties in a single day, all in the span of a few months. BAF, KAF, JAF, Qalat, Pamir, Nangahar, Wardak, Mohmand valley. I consider myself lucky to be an 11B nowadays w a CIB and a 101st combat patch.

Buddy of mine from high school, we were both in MCJROTC, I only did jrotc for my senior year. Joined the army. This man did all 4 years of jrotc in high school, joined the marines as an infantryman and got out after his first contract ended because he was upset he wasted so much of his time preparing for combat (he wanted to go) and never even got deployed. So yeah, just let that sink in. Like he said in the video, it depends on where you are deployed at, and it depends on your unit if you do or don’t deploy. I know of a lot of units, combat wise, that don’t or haven’t deployed in a while. Just because.

I want to be that person who'll stand up loud and proud, i want to protect our country and most important to me is our flag that stand right in front us. And represents who we are and what we stand for. I'll stand my ground whatever hits me I'll get right back up and still holding my ground. Either way you’re serving your country but don’t play it up like you’re hot shit cuz anyone who’s infantry or army can tell you’re bullshitting...and if you saw 10th MTN not doing anything you’re obviously in Kuwait..because my active duty unit relieved them last year and we literally just got back..I’m only saying you were in Kuwait because that’s where units go in and out of country to Iraq or Afghanistan..so if you saw them doing nothing they were either an extreme POG and stayed there the whole time or they were finally chilling out on their way home..enjoying nice facilities and what not

Can you make a video about how to pick the job you want in the army??
@enlistedghost97545 жыл бұрын
All you have to do is take the asvab and the army recruiter will tell you what jobs you qualify for.

Everyone gets to do route clearance. Even non-combat MOS's. Cuz Sergeant Major wants his walking route cleared of weeds.

Bro, get a RASP slot. You'll get deployed often and will be "forced" to go to Ranger school.
@5_56ron6 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure he knows that. Some guys don’t want to be in the battalion . He probably wants to be with a team not another just infantry unit. Don’t get me wrong I highly respect the ranger regiment and they do get some bad as missions I’ve heard. But the 75th is just high speed infantry unit preparing you to either become sf or cag.

Kayron Haynes If you think the 75th is a “stepping stone” for SF, then you might be mistaken.

I’ve been active duty infantry In the marines for 3 years and haven’t seen combat. So yeah that shits true for anyone trying to join , just cause you’re a combat MOS it doesn’t guarantee combat. Most the time you’ll just be hating your life in garrison cleaning pointless shit or you’ll be busting your ass day in day out in training for nothing to ever happen , just arthritis and hearing loss at a young age. Lol.

@Enlisted Ghost I hope it's not too late to comment and that's a nice story but what about those that are in the marine do they follow along with the combat or they have to stay I don't know maybe the carrier? Is the contract a must for a person in the military? And I'd like to know how long is the deployment mission going to be?

@@enlistedghost9754 I am agreeing with everything that you said it's not all gun ho. I also had friends who never got any action then I also had some who within days where involved in firefights. Then there is units that have different missions & to us it seems that they are doing nothing. So i am with you in everything you posted on your video.
