Before Watching: I opened my Wise Account on Friday, ordered the ATM Card & put my first dribble of Philippine Pesos in it... Last Month: Setup my first "Low-or-no-International-Fees" checking account to receive my Pension. I'll setup another to receive my Social Security as I get Closer. 91 Work/ 129 Calendar Days until Retirement. My Goal is to get to Cebu City in Mid-October. After Watching: PNB sounds like a REALLY Good Idea... As a California Resident can I use a Nevada or Washington branch of PNB? I'll be in Central Nevada the week after I retire, so Las Vegas would be convenient.

I’m not familiar with the kinds of accounts you’re setting up. I would not have my SS or pension sent to a bank outside the US. It’s safer to transfer funds from your US bank imho. Keep in mind too that the exchange rate changes, sometimes significantly. I transfer money more than once in the course of a month and the .99 fee is barely noticeable.

@@GallivantingKendall I'll be using US Banks to receive my Social Security & Pension. Capital One & Schwab are very low or no International Fees... Wise may be unnecessary, but I like "redundancy". If I were to work, having a Third Account to receive those funds makes sense to me...

I shared this video with my Filipina wife we inquired they said you have to be a Filipino citizen to open account in America to transfer to the Philippines and American cannot open an account in the Philippines Bank in America

If she asked at the PNB here in the Philippines, they might very well have said that because that is their policy if you are here. In America that is not the policy. When you are dealing with companies, banks and government agencies here in the Philippines, you will often get conflicting information. That is something you’ll have to get used to. LOL Do not stress about it. Just double check the info with other expats or another branch of the same agency. A common place for that to happen is at LTO’s. I was told over the phone by an LTO official that I couldn’t get my Philippines driver’s license until I had been in the country for one full year and had my SRRV for one full year. She told me I couldn’t get it with a tourist visa. I walked into an LTO (Land Transportation Office) in Lapu-Lapu City and got my Philippines license after only having been here for 6 months. I did have my SRRV though. The thing to do would be to go to a Philippine National Bank branch that is actually located IN the US. I hope this helps. PLEASE keep me posted.

We tried to open the account in America they said because we are not citizens of the Philippines but still no problem because my wife is going to get her dual citizenship then they said we can open an account thank you for your quick response have a blessed day

I’m sorry you had that experience, Frank. That was not mine. Conflicting information and experiences happen all the time when dealing with anything connected to the Philippines. Just so you know.😊

@@kendallhclement from my experience going to the Philippines you're absolutely right there's a lot of conflicting personalities there it's always he said they said still looking forward to retiring there will be there another 7 months like I said we only live one hour from where you live If you have the time you will be invited to dinner
