US Billions $ Aircraft Carrier Is Finally Ready For Action
At $13 billion, the USS Gerald Ford Supercarrier is the most expensive aircraft carrier ever built. The leader of the largest, heaviest, most powerful aircraft carrier class in history, it is now ready for deployment, to project the might of the United States military across the globe, and to take on any adversary that might consider themselves near-peer - including aircraft carriers from Russia and China. And so, no one ever dares. This has been the case of total dominance for the USS Ford over the last decade, until now - as China has just launched a new aircraft carrier that’s certain to be more lethal and more advanced than any aircraft carrier that isn’t of the US. Here, we find out if the American Supercarrier now has a Chinese contender - and what exactly is this new aircraft carrier that China has just launched?

*Chinese aircraft carrier - Fujian's EMALS (electromagnetic aircraft launch system) is 1 generation ahead of the EMALS system onboard USS Gerald Ford:* 💪🚢 The Chinese design team learned that the U.S. USS Gerald Ford was struggling with their Emal system 5 years ago and realized that their MVAC was what gave them problems. They then quickly switched to developing their own HV/MVDC integrated electronics system. It turned out later that they made the right choice. This is a HUGE benefit and made all the difference: MVDC is a lot more stable, reliable, and versatile. Also, there's something else you don't know: The initial plan for Fujian was not Emals but a steam aircraft launch system. However, as MVDC integrated electronics system and later EMALS was developed, the Chinese engineers adjusted their plans. Long story short, they eventually completed both systems and had them running side by side to compare their efficacy, and EMALS came out on top. As a result, the original blueprint had to be readjusted to have structural changes to accommodate the new EMALS system while the steam catapult system was put into storage. The chief engineer received The August 1 Medal also known as the Order of Bayi directly from Xi Jinping on June 6, 2019, for his achievements. Only ten recipients so far in China's entire history.

Putting our combined resources, minds and manpower together towards more beneficial things.. like cleaning up the plastic pollution in the Oceans, expanding into space and becoming a multi planet race or beings. Instead we are still killing each other. Or coming up with new ways to kill each other and dominate each other.

Yeah, true, but that is not the fault of the U.S. When you have big nations ruled undemocratically it ALWAYS has problems, the people in power are usually the very last sort of people you want in power. They most certainly do not represent their peoples best interest's, not when they are killing them, stealing from them etc.

Blah Blah……you are quite right, of course, what you point out in your final paragraph. But this post has (unfortunately) little or nothing to do with the negative and sad impact which comes with the constant threat of war to us all. The production of military hardware in every code whether it be for an army, an air force or that of a navy has become an inevitable tit for tat tactic between nations who either have a propensity toward aggressive behaviour or those who are in favour of defence as the better option. It’s become an absolute necessity more than ever now that as a people or as a nation we preserve our freedoms through defending coercion, and grimly we only have the two primary options of producing ever more high grade and destructive weaponry or, better still, diplomacy to establish all the reasons why we need to survive if only to protect our entire planet and all the wonderful things which make it, or to protect us from ourselves.

Blah Blah…….and just as an addendum to your primary point: it is quite extraordinary that as a species we - that is, those who have taken on the mantle of the ‘Power Brokers’ - have consciously chosen the most difficult and convoluted path to forging Peace whereas if we all put our hearts into it, getting along and loving each other is comparatively such an easy and fulfilling alternative!

A missile traveling at hypersonic speed forms a plasma around it, so it can't receive guidance from radio or satellite to alter course for a moving target. It has to slow to supersonic speed and it just becomes another missile for target practice. And they cost 100 million each, doubt if China has 100 of them and if they do, who cares? A non threat.

China's DF-17, while very formidable on paper, may well turn out to be as big a dud as Russian SAMs and tanks and pretty much everything else they've been squawking about for decades. Time will tell. _(But hopefully NOT)_

Most of the defensive capabilities of such machines are classified....so most pple don't understand Navy experts take into account enemy fire power before conceiving such expensive machines.... I remember a demo that showed how difficult it is to destroy a us carrier.....an old model was attacked with missiles n torpedoes....but it stayed afloat... finally explosive charges had to be strapped to it on particular points ,then detonated for it to sink.

The BIG question: HOW SAFE are our American Carriers from the Chinese "Carrier Killing" ICBM's?
@RT-fq3tp
@RT-fq3tp Жыл бұрын
Pretty safe from a conventional perspective. The issue china will have is first locating the carrier strike group. Then they will have an issue of tracking it while on the move. If they are able to track it, the next step will be engaging it. This brings with it a whole new set of issues. Whatever platform the chinese may use to locate and track American carrier groups is subject to attack, destruction or degradation, not to mention once fired the weapon will be subject to spoofing, countermeasures and attack by defensive systems.
@RT-fq3tp
@RT-fq3tp Жыл бұрын
@Ken Megahugerod if true……which i doubt, that the chinese have a weapon system that is capable of finding, targeting and engaging a carrier strike group independently, under wartime conditions. You read too much propaganda. Next if it is circling the globe, then it is exoatmospheric, in which case the carrier group would get plenty of warning of an impending missile strike. I’d like to point out that those weapons arent even able to hit moving targets. Another thing i like to point out is that hypersonic weapons arent a new thing. We’ve had them since the first ICBM. I can tell how little you know about the topic when you fail to realize how difficult hitting a moving target actually is. The problems become much harder to surpass the farther away you get. You have no idea how a carrier strike group is employed or how it operates. Id like to also point out you have no idea what it would take to locate, track and even engage one with conventional weapons. The hypersonic weapon you just mentioned isn’t good for anything except nukes. This would trigger a horrible return for the chinese. They would not play that game. I suggest you do more research.
@RT-fq3tp
@RT-fq3tp Жыл бұрын
@Ken Megahugerod I suggest you re-read my statement. While its true that china launched a weapon that circled the globe and struck a target. It has not been said anywhere that the target was moving. Nor does it talk about its targeting capabilities. Even by your own admission you dont say it hit a moving target. So again, please tell me: How china plans to locate, track and engage US carrier strike groups under wartime conditions? Which platforms would they use? What weapon system would they use? 🤔

@@RT-fq3tp It's my understanding that building a hyper-sonic missile is VERY costly. One can build multiple, slower moving, missiles for the same price. So while a hyper-sonic missile may be nice to discuss...it may not be the best approach, economically, to build anything more than a very limited inventory.
@RT-fq3tp
@RT-fq3tp Жыл бұрын
@@badguy1481 you are 100% correct. There is also the fact that its a very specific weapon that doesn’t really change the game much if at all. Everyone thinks these weapons are not detectable. But the truth of the matter is that in almost every version they are either boosted up very high or are launched by a high speed aircraft near that crafts max speed and altitude. This would alert the Carrier strike group at their max sensor range of approximate 400 miles. This doesnt even take into account the AWE, AWACS or combat air patrols detecting the threat much further out. That said, a Mach 5 missile detected at 400 miles has a flight time of 6 min 15 seconds to target. Just for comparison…….a sub sonic sea skimming missile wouldn’t be detected until it broke the radar horizon of between 25-50 miles depending on the height and power of the radar. At 50 miles the flight time for a subsonic missile going 600 mph would be 5 min (a whole minute and fifteen seconds faster too the target, from the point of detection than the hyper sonic missile). The time drops to 2 min 30 seconds if the missile is not detected until 25 miles out. There is also the issue that the boost glide hypersonic missile have an almost identical launch profile to ICBM’s and would be a very dangerous escalation. Neither side may not wait until detonation to see if its a nuclear or conventional warhead. It starts to lose its practically pretty quickly. And still suffers from the same issues that current weapons have. Such as locating, tracking and targeting carrier strike groups. Sorry for the long explanation. Not sure how much you know about these weapons and didnt want to assume. My personal opinion is that they more hype than anything and is just another way for the industrial military complex gets to scare money out of the government to fund current and future projects.
