Canada is a three-star hotel charging five-star prices. It desperately needs to figure out its housing situation. 6 million homes is a MASSIVE number and effectively the population of greater Dallas-Fort Worth. I don't see how that is actually executed when in the largest metropolitan areas, NIMBYism and local permitting costs make it too hard to actually build anything.

I would strongly agree except I think the ongoing damage to the Liberals has become so severe that I think they would still be decimated even led by Carney. I fear Trudeau has left it too late to take his walk in the snow. I would not want to waste a potentially smart, good communicator like Carney in such an imminent disaster. I would suggest he should be parachuted into the Liberal leadership afterwards and lead the rebuilding of the party by taking back all those centre of the road voters that Trudeau alienated and who held their nose to vote Conservative because they felt nowhere else to go. Also bear in mind Carney is the former governor of the Banks Canada and Bank of England, not a seasoned politician. He's never represented a riding. He has a lot to learn.

All good .. except for the A.i training part. That's fine for people working their first jobs, or people already working minimum wage, but the whole goal of A.i is to replace highly-skilled workers with cheap labour, so what happens to those skilled workers that are 10,15, 30+ years into their career find themselves without a job, or future jobs, being offered a 75% pay cut to prompt away until the A.i is capable of doing that as well. I haven't heard any of the candidates voice a clear message on their plan for how to handle A.i in a way that actually makes sense, or what policies they'd put in place to protect Canadians from it when they're eventually displaced from their jobs by it. Somebody needs to step up.
