Fun fact: MSRT placed third out of 29 total teams at the International Sniper Competition, as was touched upon in the video. To expand on this accomplishment, the other teams present at the competition that they beat out included snipers representing the likes of: -- Instructor-Trainers* from the Scout Sniper Instructor School -- Various US Army Infantry, Cavalry, and Armor units -- 620th Air Force Ground Combat Training Squadron -- 7th Special Forces Group -- USASOC (i.e. Delta Force/CAG/ACE) -- Homeland Security (ICE) -- Multiple civilian SWAT teams -- Denmark -- Norway -- Germany -- Canada They only lost out to snipers from the 3rd Ranger Battalion (who win the competition very frequently and often go on streaks) and the runners-up from the National Guard's Warrior Training Center. *Not just the teachers at the Scout Sniper School mind you, but the Marines who instructed those teachers to become proper sniper mentors in the first place so that they can turn regular Marines into Scout Snipers.

Was it MSRT or the HITRON guys? I'd suspect USCG HITRON to place high since their entire job is shooting moving engines from helicopters.
@SaftonYT7 ай бұрын
@tysenp8193 MSRT as I recall. HITRON is great at what they do, but they're more along the lines of hyper-specialized designated marksmen than snipers in the traditional sense.

Overall, there are 307 members of the Coast Guard's Maritime Security Response Teams. From years 2015 through 2019, MSRT deployed 183 times. About 36 percent of these deployments were to provide security for special events, such as the United Nations General Assembly. About 22 percent of deployments were for sweeps by canine explosives detection teams, 18 percent supported counterdrug and migrant interdiction operations, and 7 percent provided support for international partners and the Department of Defense’s regional combatant commands. Five percent provided escorts for high-value vessels, and the remaining 12 percent supported other operations, such as protection details and short-notice response to potential threats.

Don't let those fancy bonuses for certain rates sway you, I know plenty of OS and CS who bought into the bonus and hate what they do. Shadow as many rates as you can, work with your command on being able to work with rates that interest you. Know that your life as a non-rate may be rough, but we've all gone through it and your experience you gain makes you a better leader one day. If you have a shitty supervisor learn what not to do vs. the motto "well this is how I was treated as a non-rate" Break the cycle, good luck at boot camp, see you in the fleet.

@@somerandomarmydudeit’s the scorpion program it’s similar to the GRS program but on a smaller scale scorpion consists of security contractors whom have been special forces before and their duty is to establish signal intelligence capabilities I will say it again but in a more simplified way So picture this you are special forces and the NSA contacted your command and you are ordered to stay in a certain place and establish connection and communications in a warehouse near some militant village and you and the NSA gather information from the devices (signal intelligence capabilities) so basically you guard the signal intelligence and your location becomes a place where other operators can regroup but your mission stays classified if you wanna know more read about the GRS because the GRS works in a similar way to scorpion but on a bigger scale than scorpion

The USCG breaks down vessel boarding into three categories: Compliant (they may like you coming onboard, but they're going to let you), Noncompliant (they don't want you onboard, but they are not doing anything direct to prevent you), and Hostile (they definitely don't want you onboard and are willing to actively attempt to deny you.) Local CG boat and cutter personnel can conduct Compliant, MSST conduct Non-compliant, but only the MSRT can conduct Hostile classed boarding's.
