Here is my story, exposed on the 29th by a 80 year old vaccinated person with no symptoms, told on the 31th, that night felt sleepy, chills and feverish but normal temperature. Did self isolation, granddaughter woke up with cough, ( with us on the 30th) did test on the 2th tested positive. I'm not vaccinated either is my husband. Daughter is positive today, her first 2 test were negative. We are all over it, no fever. Husband so far never got it. U.S. citizen in the midwest I am literally in the middle of the country. Employer told me to follow CDC guidelines, back to work tomorrow. It's going to be an interesting day at work tomorrow. By the way: overweight, diabete and high blood pressure take medication to keep under control, 2 tablet of vitamin D. Each day.

They kept decreasing with every strain , HOWEVER, they did say and still do that those original vaccines are still effective at preventing SERIOUS illness and hospital and death. Right up until this Omicron. Where the efficacy has dropped to like 20 % but is still protecting against severe illness. You sir have been gaslighted into the pit of misinformation like most other these days. This is not about anything else except helping to protect us from dying and overwhelming the hospitals. This is a Pandemic Sir, do you even know what that means. I suppose you believe that only 5 million have died so far. When the real scientists are saying it is minimum 5 times that amount. Exactly! Whereas on TV is supersensationalised and politicians play politics. I was rather hoping today Boris Johnson would waive isolation periods as by continuing with Plan B he has essentially approved permissible transmission. The next 3 weeks as Dr. John states, for the UK, will be a pain in the ass for most and those affected will just build up unnecesaary anxiety as "here comes another massive wave". The mainstream media are absolutely not pushing information out as Dr. John does here. He's helped me so much understand this pandemic and have some positivity about reaching endemic phase.

For Canada the figures become more and more unreliable. Here in BC we’ve been told that there aren’t enough tests available any more, both PCR as well as lateral flow, and are being told to stay home and isolate for 5 days if we have Covid like symptoms, but only if we’re vaccinated. Natural immunity is still not considered here, even after 106 studies that proof that it is as robust and long lasting as 2 doses of vaccine+booster. I’ve lost all respect for our government.

I am not particularly worried although many seem like panic is required.
@lizwilliams14

@MLWATKK the reason why there are more vaccinated people testing positive in Saskatchewan is because there are simply more vaccinated people. If 100 percent of people were vaccinated, then 100 percent of cases would be in the vaccinated as you can’t have more than 100 percent of people.

So now they're not saying they can't prove the person that died had coronavirus because there was no history of virus testing so they say cause of death was anything other than cov2 a least not a antigen nasal test, a majority do not test regularly 'that's every 2 weeks , localized containment , medical community is at greatest risk, could a more varulant variance be more likely to make kids at highest risk possibly changing varulance having similar symptoms as common cold considering adjuvant Rnot and recent medical breakthroughs as well as becoming more contagious, it has in previous pandemics

don't forget, in the new age of vaccine definitions, the vaccines DID work! No one died & all cases were mild!! Now, vaccines only reduce symptoms & reduce deaths. Apparently this has always been the case... except I seem to remember when a time before 2020 when getting a vaccine stopped you from getting the disease (hindsight is year 2020, after all). Media? Or fake news? it really depends on what you define what media is ,media is not truth but a narrative of belief and not fact , to find fact nowadays one must search for truth for one’s self ,one must become a reporter in their own right and weigh what one finds , from all sources ,because every media today puts more effort into destroying narratives of others then on reporting on facts , ,So i am reporting this as fact and not fake news , if one just listens to one media and not an opposing view ,then you are an idiot and are blind to what one self and one’s own beliefs would be and will follow narratives that have the ability to speak louder because of money like governments and not the common person to whom are being silenced , not because of belief but that of a minority with lots of money like big pharmacy corp.

Morrison is the worst offender. It is cabinet's "zero covid" policy, holding federal funding as a ransom, that pushed Andrews to freak out and become draconian. Then ScoMo shifted policy and the states have been able to relax. But now ScumMo is trying to shift the blame onto the states (particularly the Labor states) in order to try win points for the upcoming election; with help from the Murdoch Mafia of course. Morrison and the entire LNP can not be trusted. They will sell us out to their donors and investment portfolios. Leaving Australia a burning laughing stock while they jet off with their elitist corporate buddies. You will have to take the data from Canada with a grain of salt. As of last Friday, the testing has been restricted to a very select group. The number of infections in Ontario has started to go down, not because we are experiencing fewer infections, but rather because we are testing significantly fewer people.

My neighbor has one lung due to agent orange. The govt finally recognized the vets (not enough) and he got the lung removed and treatment he needed. His son who sadly has some severe form learning disability and other disabilities which I believe is also do to the agent orange and his lovely wife, very nice old lady. All 3 caught delta back 2 months ago. The wife and son got thru it no problem. Ron however got hit pretty hard. Went to hospital. Had a heart attack. They wanted to stick the tube down his throat. He needed air badly. He’s usually on 4 units of oxygen and they put him up to 80. So the doctors said he needed intubation. Ron said to the doctor “if u stick anything down my throat I will leave u with a Columbia neck tie”. (A Colombian necktie is a form of post-mortem mutilation in which the victim’s tongue is pulled through a deep cut beneath the jaw and left dangling on the neck. It first appeared in Colombia during the period known as La Violencia as a method of psychological warfare designed to scare and intimidate. Thanks for your information, Dr. Campbell. Helpful as always. As to the situation in Germany: we are not doing a fourth dose; we prefer waiting for study results from Israel. BionTech currently is working on a modified vaccine for omicron. It is expected to be available not before April/May. Then we can do a fourth shot. The rollout of the AstraZeneca vaccine here was a pure communication desaster. "Hey, we have a vaccine, let's vaccinate the elderly! Oh wait, the vaccine was tested on a younger population; no data for the elderly. So let's vaccinate the (younger) healthcare workers. What? There are side effects that are more likely to hit younger people? Then let's vaccinate the elderly." In the end everybody was confused - too many conflicting recommendations. It didn't help our vaccination campaign either.

Dr. Campbell. There is no doubt my countrymen have a real problem with obesity. But please don't discount the "for profit" healthcare system in the US. Remember that we have private health insurance paid for by the populace or just paid out of pocket for medical care with no insurance at all. THEN the hospitals, states, county health departments get federal money (only during this covid crisis) for impacts of covid. One of the main impacts measured are deaths! Every Monday my state adds several hundred deaths to the total from "analysing death certificates". These numbers are people who died within 28 days of a covid diagnosis, even if the cause of death was a car accident, they had recovered but died of some other cause, etc. The US is reporting very differently. But that isn't disputing your claim that we are FAT, for sure!

Hear hear! I've been saying this from the outset. I'm british, moved here 3 years ago. Its so blatantly obvious to me what they are up to. I had a cold the other week. Just a cold. Zoom app with doctor, she's on about monoclonal antibodies! Hang on love! I need tissues, fluids, and acetomenaphine! Let's not have me in the ICU before we need to! I'm very wary and a little mistrusting of the entire healthcare system here, precisely BECAUSE it's for profit. I love it here, love the country, love the people, ... but I do miss my beloved NHS. 😔 no paperwork, no nonsense, you walk in broken, they fix you and send you home. And I cannot BEGIN To try to explain to anyone here, how I NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE, even thought about healthcare, until I moved here. There are NO DRUG COMMERCIALS on TV in uk. None. Because there's no one to sell them to. There's no commercials for hospitals or clinics, here it's a business, there its a service. I couldn't believe you had to pay here just to SPEAK to a doctor. Lol My zoom app bill came in. I nearly fell over when I saw how much they were billing the insurers. Daylight robbery! Dunno about doctors white coats, they around all wear eye masks and striped shirts! Lol

I agree. Dr John is a good example of good science in action, not influenced by pressures, eg research funding, political agendas or belief in ridiculous conspiracies. I also like his world-view which reminds us that it is a global thing, and takes a reassuring look at evidence in other places. He has been spot on in his inferences about South Africa where I live, and also points out some of the differences, eg large community immunity from high infection rates. He also has reassuring inferences about how Australia will go and does not cast fear about the high numbers that you are experiencing at the moment. He sees this as inevitable and has confidence in the awesome vaccination rates that Australia has done so well in. Hang in there.

@@user-og6hl6lv7p I hear what you are saying but the ethics of vaccine mandates have been tested in robust constitutional settings like the South African constitution - which has clearly upheld that there can be no forcing of vaccines, but if a company or institution needs to mandate vaccines because the risk to staff/students/customers is too great, it will hold up in a constitutional court. This is also not the same as a two tiered society as there are existing restrictions eg age limits for drinking and other similar, accepted restrictions. Australia has also relaxed work-related restrictions since achieving the high rate of vaccination from what I understand. The hype around this being segregatory or a moral issue is also disingenuous and disrespectful to anyone who suffered under repressive regimes like apartheid. Being restricted from going to certain shops or concerts is not the same thing.

In Germany the whole government and all MSM warned since around 15th December that the infection rates will drop dramatically because people are not getting tested over the holidays... the cases dropped in deed. Now that in some areas schools started again and people are mandated to test for going to work (exception for boostered ones) the cases are rising again (but not as dramatic as in many other countries). Seems a terrible disease... so severe that people do not even bother to see a doctor... or they would have been tested. Omicron cases have been found since mid to late November in Germany but our lead virologist (the guy that developed the PCR testing kit the whole world is using) assumes that Omicron will be the dominant variant only by the end of January in Germany. It'd be great to see numbers of vaccine injured in hospital, but unfortunately those numbers aren't publicised. And in nz it would exceed covid hospitalizations for sure. I know people that have gone into hospital for other things and been told by staff and other patients that the wards are full of vaccine injury patients. There's also a problem with the way these things are reported. For example, it came out a couple of days back that over half of nsw hospitalizations are incidental. In nz there are currently more vaxed in hospital than unvaxed and we have low cases. I'm not denying that the vaccine works to a degree, but to say it is safe and effective isn't always the truth and we aren't given all of the info we need to make an informed decision. We can't even trust death stats when people who die of gunshot wounds are put towards covid death stats.

Current non Vd case numbers are around 1800. So based on this it seems omicron is only very slightly less severe for the Vd. This is also consistent with a study from UK that said omicron is only 11% more mild compared to delta for the non Vd. It remains a strange mystery to me why it is relatively more mild than delta in the Vd, but only slightly more mild in the non Vd compared to the not Vd. It really doesn't add up.
