@Freda Childress they were actually called the Navajo code talkers because they used the Navajo language plus some words that were not in the Navajo language that they made up. The Navajo code talkers first started in World War II with 29 Navajo tribesmen making the code so that the Japanese could not break our correspondence between the troops. After World War II the Navajo code talkers were also used in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. It was after the Vietnam War that the Navajo code talkers could finally tell their families what they did because it became Declassified in the 1970's or the 1980's. All the Navajo code talkers where in the US Marine Corps.

President Donald Trump issued an extraordinary tweet. “The United States has spent EIGHT TRILLION DOLLARS fighting and policing in the Middle East. Thousands of our Soldiers have died or been badly wounded. Millions of people have died on the other side. GOING INTO THE MIDDLE EAST IS THE WORST DECISION EVER MADE ... IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY! We went to war under a false & now disproven premise, WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.” $TRILLIONS$. You could end all poverty. Its no wonder the united states is the WORST. NOT the best in every single category such as crime, education, poverty, infrastructure, health, etc. Not a single developed nation respects the USA because of this. It amounts to an official admission from the US government that successive US administrations are responsible for war crimes resulting in mass murder. Trump acknowledges that Washington launched the 2003 invasion of Iraq on the “false premise” of “weapons of mass destruction.” In other words, the administration of George W. Bush lied to the people of the United States and the entire planet in order to facilitate a war of aggression. Under international law, this war was a criminal action and a patently unjustified violation of Iraq’s sovereignty. The Nuremberg Tribunal, convened in the aftermath of the Second World War, declared the planning and launching of a war of aggression the supreme crime of the Nazis, from which all of their horrific atrocities flowed, including the Holocaust. On the basis of this legal principle, Bush, Vice President Cheney and other top US officials, as well as their successors in the Obama and Trump administrations who continued the US intervention in the Middle East-expanding it into Syria and Libya, while threatening a new war against Iran-should all face prosecution as war criminals. The real basis for the war was the long-held predatory conception that by militarily conquering Iraq Washington could seize control of the vast energy resources of the Middle East-giving it a stranglehold over the oil lifeline to its principal rivals in Asia and Europe-and thereby offset the decline of US imperialism’s global hegemony. the consequences of the US assault on Iraq and its people as “sociocide,” the deliberate destruction of what had been among the most advanced societies, in terms of education, health care and infrastructure, in the Middle East.
@chuckjohannessen33304 жыл бұрын
@@g.h7657 Have you ever been to the middle east?
@g.h76574 жыл бұрын
@@chuckjohannessen3330 no. I served in the branch that defended the government when they broke treaties with natives and stole their land once they found out gold was on it. To this day they still haven't given it back. And what does that have to do with war criminals taking 8 trillion through blatant lies to the entire world? They haven't been tried and sent to prison due to so many soldiers blindly defending them and using that money to bribe. Trump assassinating officials in the middle east is the equivalent of them assassinating the US Secretary of defense. In early 2018, US Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher stabbed a defenseless teenage captive to death in Iraq. According to two SEAL witnesses, Gallagher said over the radio "he's mine" and walked up to the medic and prisoner, and without saying a word, killed the prisoner by stabbing him repeatedly with his hunting knife. Gallagher and his commanding officer, Lieutenant Jake Portier, then posed for photographs of them standing over the body with some other nearby SEALs. Gallagher then text messaged a friend in California a picture himself holding the dead captive's head by the hair with the explanation "Good story behind this, got him with my hunting knife.” After he was imprisoned, Gallagher's other crimes came to light: fellow soldiers said they witnessed Gallagher shooting and killing an unarmed old man in a white robe, as well as a young girl walking with other girls. Gallagher boasted that he averaged three kills a day over 80 days, including four women. In video interviews with investigators, multiple SEALs described how he would go on solo “gun runs,” emptying loads of heavy machine gun fire into neighborhoods with no apparent targets. “I think he just wants to kill anybody he can,” Corey Scott, a medic from the platoon, told Navy investigators. After his case went public, it became a conservative rallying cry: A website soliciting donations for his defense raised > $375k, and a prominent veterans’ apparel maker sold “Free Eddie” T-shirts. Spurred on by his family, 40 Republican members of Congress signed a letter in March calling for the Navy to free him, and soon after, US President Trump had him released from prison to house arrest. In July, 2019, he was acquitted of all charges. Gallagher was one of three military personnel accused or convicted of war crimes on whose behalf Trump had intervened to pardon or promote. Trump told a rally audience days after his intervention, "I stuck up for three great warriors against the deep state." Gallagher has now started a chain of companies selling clothing and nutritional supplements.

As a Veteran Marine with plenty of respect and little understanding of tribal culture, I see a Marine honoring two cultures. I see him dancing with the support of The People, and I see him honoring the uniform he wears (doesn't hurt to see other Native Veterans coming up behind him.) Marines with no Native blood have been honored when they bring fallen brothers and sisters home to their People and this is a continuation of that circle. Other cultures encourage their warriors to perform sacred war dances (The haka comes to mind), and I appreciate this Marine honoring these People. He chooses to dance in uniform, which means that he speaks for the rest of the Corps, including me, and I don't have a problem with that at all. Semper Fi.

They do give pride to the people, and I do respect them, I just pray that more of us know better and atleast use this our advantage to get our education paid for. I went to one Pow Wow in Buffalo NY,, unless you were a dancer... no one else was allowed in the dance. And the guys doing the drums, were any thing but friendly. Seems either they hated their job on the road.
