The US Marines literally remind me of the Civil War Troops (1st Potomac Army Group) armed with Spencer repeaters and Remington M1864 roller-block rifles.

the time the US forced japan to open trade was in 1853, 8 years before the civil war began, so the uniforms would be similar, if not probably the same, as well as their weapons such as the sharps rifles and such

@@cleverlaziness indeed! especially the Southern Samurai principalities that pledged service to the Emperor, If I haven't forgotten, the Saga, Satsuma, Zu, Choshu, and Tosa principalities - these were all armed with M1865 trapdoors, M1864 Spencers, and M1855/66 Enfield-Snider rifles. In fact, the Imperialist Samurai were even clothed in Unionist officers fashion with revolver pistols instead of Katanas. yes, Viscount Saigo Takamori was even a Sharpshooter than a swordsman.

There’s no such thing as an “1864 rolling block” the rolling block didn’t exist during the civil war the first model came out in 1866 it was designed in 1864-65 it was however based on an earlier pattern split breech carbine used by union cavalry that was also made by Remington

@@SbrBAR-z4z, but it was designed, and the first patents were rushed in 1864 for the Cavarly and some elite Units in the Potomac and Kentucky armies First and 3rd Groups -though in that year, it was still predominated by muzzle-loading muskets. Muzzleloaders were gradually replaced by breechloaders as months went by.

@@valorwarrior7628 Uh no again the rolling block design wasn’t finished in 1864 and the first production model didn’t come out until 1866 you can easily look this up no rolling blocks were used in the civil war they didn’t exist yet

my favorite campaign mod is the Modern Otomo Mod and the For Fun mod. It's basically this. You basically have Fall of the Samurai units during the Sengoku Jidai, ships and everything. Just 10 gunboats can take out 30 Heavy Bunes

I know it’s a game but I feel the marines would have won by a landslide. The cannons and Gatling guns alone was have decimated the opposing force by a larger number. With that kind of fire power the Japanese would never have gotten as close as they did

Was the Ai controlling the Japanese? They just charged in and failed to concentrate in any broken line. It lloks like Human vs AI.

If you hold alt and then right click where you want them to fire, they will only fire at where you clicked. Makes it extremely easy to take out clumps of troops once you know that.
