US MRE Menu 17 Pork Sausage Patty, Maple Flavoured

Hi guys, here I take a look at a very fresh US MRE thats had a shake up and included a rather surprising entree along with the pork patty. A few firsts in this menu for me and I got a say this was a cracking breakfast menu all round.

Hi Su. You did a very informative review. This is one of the better US MREs. Not my favorite, but it's close. I always add to much water to my blueberry granola. The FRH is a hit and miss proposition. I like the syrup. That FRH was a dandy. It was cooking. Looked pretty darn good. Have a great day 😊

I really enjoyed doing this one and I am glad I got that case. This is a solid menu all round and I have fallen lucky with the FRHs, it will be just my luck I get a dodgy dud when out and about just you watch lol. I am glad you enjoyed it thanks Tracy.

Nice review su, this is probably the ultimate breakfast mre now, it's combined the menu 20 hashbrowns and Granola with the pork patty. I am looking for this mre now. The Granola is probably the nicest Granola ever. Thanks for showing us cheers.

If I was a grunt, that granola would be stashed in my pack for a rainy day. It's made by Mountain House, so should have a very long use by date on it.

It seems like a lot of food because a US MRE can be split up into three smaller meals if necessary. But it's not really adequate for the long term it's more of a morale thing...

I don't think I could have 3 MRE's a day in the field. I reckon I could survive on 2 a day when hiking/ camping

Mre's are made for a meal a day since it holds a lot of calories

They are designed for 3 meals a day yes but only for the very active. Thats a lot of food. Even on my most active day I couldn't eat that, nor a whole first strike ration and I can easily burn 1300 calories just riding to work and back on my bike on the days that I do. Even walking all day I don't think I could. Still, they are good to have to hand and you can break them down to what you need.
