Former submariner....that one with the Grinch was so accurate. Especially for us nukes. Sometimes finding ways to annoy certain shipbricks was all that kept you going on those long deployments. Bonus points for subtlety.

It was the same in the Army brother. I was a tank crewman and a tank crew is a very tight brotherhood. Any personal defect, real or perceived, is grist for the mill.

Got to do a couple of beer days in my 20 years. Sucks when you earn them by not getting a port visit for so long. 2 beers per sailor, and they open them both when they hand em to you. Captain on the forrestal postponed our port visit for an extra week to do the beer day so the MARDET could stop having to guard the storeroom that the beer was locked up in.

We never drank aboard ship... But in ET school, a friend famously had a Captain Morgans box doing duty as a tv stand in the Q- the Chief during inspection laughed, saying he knew nobody would be so bold as to have a box that actually had somthing in it, and that he wouldnt even bother checking... But guess what???😂😂

Surface ships have all kinds of places you can sleep…. Took several naps in the engine room while waiting for the broken crap to be pulled so i can make replacement parts…. Aux spaces too

What the average age of a new butterbar? Well, usually guy looks like he's 12. But he could be 26 years old but the enlisted who've been in the service more than three years still treat him like he just got hair on his pee-pee yesterday...
