The fact that we know one air tower person was doing the job of two because of a shortage of people and this happened right after Convict 45's cut backs seems pretty suggestive to me. Why? There's 1,000 light plane crashes a year in the US, which is several each day. Approx 400 casualties every year. Still a very small percentage of the 150,000 flights EVERY DAY in the US. There were 1,000 crashes in 2024, so why do you want them stopped now for TWO crashes? The only thing unique about this one is that it happened over a built up area, so there is footage and it is getting world wide attention.

There needs to be a robust understanding unambiguous defence of DEI that reasures us that safety critical jobs cc are not being managed by weird activists like the senior LA fire official who thought that men who are too heavy to be lifted by women had themselves two blame if they die in a fire. DEI has left air traffic control positions short by thousands as qualified candidates are rejected because they don't meet the diversity requirements. That Washington Helicopter and plane incident should have had a dedicated air traffic controller for the plane and another for the helicopter not one trying to oversee both had staffing levels been at the normal levels. Getting staffing levels back up to the required standard will happen now Trump has scrapped DEI policy and the skies will be safer for it.
