US presidential debate full of “embarrassing moments,” Canadian expert says

It’s still unclear how U.S. President Joe Biden’s lacklustre performance during Thursday night’s debate will impact his chances to win a second term.
But he’s already widely facing criticism for what’s been called a “disastrous performance.”
Canadian author and educator Irshad Manji offered her thoughts on the debate to Global News, saying it was full of “embarrassing moments.”
She called it a “reckoning” for Democrats who, she said, need to seriously think about a nominee to replace Biden.

She mentions that there are much younger democratic candidates to choose from. The issue for the left is that the younger candidates may appeal to the younger crowd, but usually the older voters are consistent with actually voting for someone, even if it isn't their main person they wanted, i.e. in football a fan rooting for a team, because they represent your conference, or division or has a great story by winning, in spite your team not making it. Secondly, the younger candidates the Democrats have gravitate too far left. That will hype the base for the primaries, but for the general election, you still have to show you are bipartisan, by having policies that are more moderate. This is one of the reasons, regardless of what happened in 2020, how Biden won the primaries, and even the presidency.
