US secretary of state Antony Blinken has been heckled during a news conference in Washington, speaking as a Gaza ceasefire could be within sight.
US president-elect Donald Trump has suggested Israel and Hamas could agree a deal by the end of the week.
Talks between Israeli and Hamas representatives are underway in the Qatari capital Doha, after President Biden indicated a ceasefire was "on the brink".
